He deserved to die but it should have been the state executing him as a murderer not a citizen taking the law into his own hands.

Also: he DID perform abortions that were medically necessary, that's why it happened so late into pregnancy, that's why he "SOLD" those little mementos. Citation needed on the accusation that he was lying and these were NOT necessary. Until then, the above extenuating circumstances illustrate why you bloodthirsty pro-fetus fuckwits are not only wrong, but horrible human beings for basking in a false sense of justice being served in the wake of Tiller's death. No one, no mother, no doctor, no decent human being would abort a term baby just for convenience. If they had planned to have an abortion, they would have had them in the first trimester. These were women who had fully fucking wanted their baby, had to go through a heartbreaking experience and lose their baby to save their life. Tiller was a doctor who had faced multiple murder attempts prior to the final successful one, and yet still had the compassion and resolve to do a job that was dangerous to him and his family, for the sake of suffering women.

And since he was basically the only doctor with the courage to perform these NECESSARY MEDICAL PROCEDURES, now women can die with their babies, or give birth to babies that will linger in suffering for a while and then die and additionally traumatize the families. Based on his Fark posting patterns, I'm 100% certain deciusmaximus is a Poe, but two things come to mind:
(1) Poe's Law states that, without a winking smiley or other indicator of humor, it is completely impossible to tell a parody of rabid fundamentalism from the genuine article;
(2) The sentiment deciusmaximus is expressing has been expressed by a great many other people across the internet, in other printed media and on television who weren't joking (see also: Army of God )

I fucking hate the right wing propaganda machine (the left wing propaganda machine is bad too). They trick people into thinking that women have abortions just for the hell of it and that only liberals have them, they fool people into believing that abortion doctors are psychopaths who grin from ear to ear at the thought of killing fetuses and keep them as trophies, they misinform them of what the law says (and why it says what it says) and what the circumstances are, they manipulate people into hating others to the point that these people want to murder a fellow human being. They'll NEVER tell you about the difficult choices people have to make or the medical complications, no, they prefer sensationalism. Fuck the right wing propagandists; they're lucky there's no karma because they'd be karma's bitch.
Assuming the average abortion takes 1 hour (including patient prep, sterilization of the OR, maintenance of tools, etc.) then Tiller would have had to perform 8 abortions per day, every day (no vacations, no weekends, no sick days, no holidays) for over 17 years. Sure, the procedure itself probably only takes 15-20 minutes, but there is always paperwork, and that 15-20 minutes is for a simple 1-3 month abortion.
