Quote# 75768

The US Census says there are only .7% of the US population that are non-believers. I take issue with that claim. 12% of the population are far-left liberal progressive idiots. So that makes it 12.7% non-believers, because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer. Most were born during the 50,60,70 and 80's. Very little parent guidance and very little religous training. Only time they were in church was for a wedding or funeral. Some for free food. Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject. That's like telling everybody how to do or how good *** is, when you have never had any. These people need to be pitied. They are the mob. Not the gang type either. They always follow a leader. They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge.

I don't want to live on this planet any more.

The L

1. I have no idea where you're getting any of these arbitrary numbers. They certainly aren't from the U.S. Census, as the census doesn't gather religious data.

2. I am a liberal, born in the 80's, whose parents spent quite a lot of time with me and sent me both to private Christian schools AND Sunday School until I was 14. I continued to attend Sunday School until I was 18. I still go to church with them every week, despite no longer being Christian. Your premise that liberals have had "very little parent guidance" is faulty.

3. I've read the vast majority of the Bible, and heard it every week in church for the past 25 years. I have also read portions of the Koran, the Ramayana (full text), the Baghavad-Gita (full text), and portions of the Eddas. How much and how many of those books have YOU read, rabbit?

4. I don't trust leaders of ANY kind. The current political climate pretty much forces me to suspect anyone who would be crazy enough to run for any office. I run over candidates with a fine-toothed comb, and at the end of the day, I'm still not voting for the "best" candidate, so much as the least corrupt.

5. If you can't even bring yourself to say the word "sex," which is a perfectly harmless scientific term for both physical gender and the reproductive act, then you are not mature enough for serious discourse. "Sex" is not a dirty word. "Fuck" is, but "sex" isn't.

UPDATE: Most of the other comments are along the lines of "Obama never said this was an atheist country, why does this article exist?"

"far-left liberal progressive idiots." ... "non-believers, because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer"

So, I'm not sure if I am to assume you are a non believer or not? OR are you just a hypocritical moron?

9/3/2010 4:08:11 AM

thelivingguano

Yeah, I guess that the other 87.3% were born either in the 30s and 40s or the 90s or later and are therefore good Bible-believing Christians.

Yes, well it's lucky they can feel free to ignore the oral attacks of a non-believer such as yourself.

christians need to be pitied. They are an ignorant mob. Not the gang type either. They always follow a leader. They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge.

"anybody who visciously[sic] attacks somebody orally or phylically[sic] is a non-believer"

With attacks and insults before and after this statement, your position is somewhat . . . suspect.

"...because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer"

Would that make you a non-believer?

"Very little parent guidance and very little religous training"

Very little indoctrination.

"That's like telling everybody how to do or how good *** is, when you have never had any"

And you know this how? Most people on this planet have had some sort of religious education during childhood. Your statement is false.

"Most were born during the 50,60,70 and 80's"

History FAIL.

"They are the mob. Not the gang type either. They always follow a leader. They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge."

Projecting much?

"The US Census says there are only .7% of the US population that are non-believers."

I'm sure it's much higher than that. Where did you get that statistic?

"So that makes it 12.7% non-believers, because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer."

You haven't met a lot of conservative christians have you?

"Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject."

I think you'll find many have a good knowledge on the bible, some even more so than believers.

I love your last couple of sentences. Like Christians aren't blindly following a leader.

2% of the population are far-left liberal progressive idiots. So that makes it 12.7% non-believers, because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer.

Yeah, 'cause it's the far-left liberal progressive idiots who are committing all of the violent crimes in this country. Everyone knows that the least safe part of any city is the part with all of the organic food co-ops.

Most were born during the 50,60,70 and 80's. Very little parent guidance and very little religous training.

I thought the fifties were the golden age. Get your story straight.

Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject.

You have a point there. I don't understand how the overwhelming majority of Christians can have a view on the subject.

They always follow a leader. They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge.

Doubting Thomas

The US Census says there are only .7% of the US population that are non-believers.

I dispute that claim, too, because most polls make it out to be from 15-20%.

12% of the population are far-left liberal progressive idiots. So that makes it 12.7% non-believers, because anybody who visciously attacks somebody orally or phylically is a non-believer.

So, I guess that makes you a non-believer, since you viciously attacked those you call "far-left liberal progressive idiots?"

And really, what's so bad about being progressive? I thought progress was a good thing?

Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject.

Same goes for most Christians.

They always follow a leader. They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge.

Again, just like Christians.

Jezebel's Evil Sister

Strange. I've filled out four of the every-10-years census forms so far in my life, and not one of them asked a single question about religion. They were just about how many people live in my house and what their ethnicity is.

"... Most were born during the 50,60,70 and 80's. ..."

As were the vast majority of people living on Earth at this time. What's your point? That a lot of people now in their 50s and 60s got "born again" three times?

"... Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject. ..."

If you had been born "during the 50,60,70 and 80's," maybe you would have received an education that would have prevented you from using a ridiculous misplaced modifier that points to YOU as the person who never read the Koran or the BuyBull. As it is, it appears you never had any lessons in grammar or spelling.

"... Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge. ..."

LOL! Nuff said.

Unbelievers have read both books. Also what of violent acts by believers? Did you forget those? You describe the fascist right perfectly.

I don't seem to recall the last time a non-believer bombed a building, killed someone for being a believer or being involved in an activity they didn't approve of or trying to incite or take part in sectarian violence.

Maybe you could help me out and give me a list?

"Most were born during the 50,60,70 and 80's."

Check.

"Very little parent guidance and very little religous training."

Half check. I had parental guidance but, luckily, nearly no "religious training."

"Only time they were in church was for a wedding or funeral."

Damn. And you were doing so well. Every wedding I've attended in my family has been held at someone's home or a rented venue of some sort. No churches involved but for the minister babbling some useless nonsense.

No funeral I've ever attended has ever been at a church either. The casket is shown in the funeral parlor and buried in a public graveyard.

"Some for free food."

Well, I do have to admit I'd probably make an effort to attend if there's free grub.

"Having never read either the Koran or the Bible, I don't understand how they can have a view on the subject."

I've tried to read both. Neither makes any more sense than the other and both give me a migraine.

"They always follow a leader."

I'm not really the joining type.

"They don't care or want to know who or what the leader stands for; they just got to follow a leader. Because, following a leader allows them to excuse themselves from knowledge. "

Isn't this exactly what you religious folk do?
