I'm following along with a topic my friend brought up today about the NIV. The NIV is said to be the most sold/read bible version.

I'm urging all of my Born Again Christian friends to read this post. If after you have read this, you are appalled at being lied to by Satan.

If you will promise to burn, shred or destroy your NIV per-Version (send me pictures, maybe) I'll send you a King James Bible. Yes I will. But you must get rid of your NIV. I have 3 brand new King James Bibles sitting on my table as we speak and they are ready to belong to you. Send me a message and I will get you your new TRUE WORD OF GOD Bible.

To put your mind at ease, even if NIV is the most read version, the KJV has the most vocal and dedicated fandom of any version of this text that you call "Bieble" (I'm guessing it's a fanfic about a relationship between Justin Bieber and Michael Buble). Hopefully you can sleep at night knowing that the fundie equivalent of nerd rage heavily favors your side of this stupid, stupid debate.

It's strange that one the main features of the original Protestant movement was that people should be able to read the bible in their own language to be understandable for the average person. In these days the 17th century translation that is the KJB is as unreadable (especially for those who have a very low degree of education) as what we have in my country (in the Netherlands) the state bible made in 1617. Some of the fundie protestant Christians here only want to read this one and condemn any other version.
