Quote# 75841

[Obama admits he doesn't know what happens when we die, where the soul resides, or what existed before the Big Bang.]

This is an answer that no Christian could possibly give. It’s an answer that could only be given by someone who does not believe in Christ, his mission, and his teaching. It’s an answer an agnostic could give, an answer an atheist could give, or an answer a spiritual inquirer could give. It’s even an answer a Muslim could give since a Muslim can’t know he’s going to paradise unless he blows up some infidels. But this is not an answer a Christian could give.

"This is an answer that no Christian could possibly give."

You're right - far too many Christians are incapable of admitting when they don't know what they're ranting about. Like now.

...not what you meant?

9/7/2010 6:01:02 AM

I'd rather have a humble president than an arrogant one like you are proposing

9/7/2010 6:06:31 AM

If all one+ billion Muslims had to kill infidels, it would just take about 6 or 7 killed in a suicide bomb to wipe out humanity.

9/7/2010 6:15:10 AM

Jezebel's Evil Sister

It's also the answer that an honest person would give. But fundies know nothing of honesty.

It's NOT an answer that a Muslim would give; they're just as fucktarded as fundies.

9/7/2010 6:15:48 AM

Except I KNOW Christians who give that answer dipshit.

9/7/2010 6:28:35 AM

Big Jilm

I don't think you qualify to judge such a matter. Stop playing God or we'll see you in Hell. The man's faith (or lack of) is his own business. It's between him and his god -not yours.

At least he's honest with what he believes. He can most certainly believe in God and not know these answers. In effect, he could be saying he just doesn't know how God did all those things.

Admitting one doesn't know all the secrets of the universe is actually a more honest and respectful answer. It's only lame-brains like you that insist you know everything.

Pompus ass.

Last week at the Sesame Street:
The differernce betwenn believing and knowing.

So he's just supposed to make shit up? I know this flies in fundieland but not in the real world. I prefer the honest answer. And really, given that Christians base their belief in the afterlife on faith none of them really know either and it's refreshing when the more reasonable ones admit that rather than being all cocksure about it.

9/7/2010 7:07:15 AM

In other words, it's the logical answer that any sane person with a bigger IQ than shoe size would give.

Do you really think your president is going to come across as a fundie idiot and make a laughing stock of himself, just to please you? That's even assuming he had the same retarded brain processes which fundies are cursed with, which he obviously doesn't.

"This is an answer that no Christian could possibly give"

To the question you don't want asked: prove that the 'soul' exists, and that an 'afterlife' exists too.

And the question you daren't ask yourself:

What if when we experience death through brain hypoxia, that's it. Finito. Goodningt Vienna. GAME OVER. That there is no comforting 'Heaven' to go to after we die, and we just end up cold & rotting in a box?

Thus the warm, safe, secure security blankie of religious 'faith'. Because you fundies are utterly terrified of the alternative.

But far be it from me to stop you having your nice little delusion. Only be prepared for reality to bite you in the arse, Bryan & everyone of your ilk.

There's only three certainties in life: Death, Taxes, and HD failures. And no amount of comforting delusions will save you - especially from the former.

At least when President Obama was asked that question, he was honest: 'I don't know'. As do most people. And in him (and all intelligent and curious people) speaking those three words, therein is the beginning of wisdom.

It's not wise to lie to yourselves, fundies.

Mister Spak

"This is an answer that no Christian could possibly give."

Because christians are absolutely certain that they are right eg Obama hasn't shown us his birth certificate, the lack of transitional fossils proves the big bang theory is wrong, socialised medicine makes Canadians wish they lived in the US etc.

9/7/2010 7:30:47 AM

"This is an answer no Christian could possibly give."

Why? Because it's honest?

9/7/2010 7:34:07 AM

Brian Fisher, you also got the spelling of your name wrong too.

9/7/2010 7:38:18 AM

christian leftie

If a person claims they "know" these things, then they have no faith, since faith is believing something you hope to be true dispute knowing you could be wrong.

Thus you are arguing that no Christian has faith.

Further, claiming absolute knowledge of the metaphysical is, by definition, delusion.

9/7/2010 8:05:19 AM

Allegory for Jesus

It's an answer that someone who was a Christian could give if they also realized that "belief" =/= "knowledge".

As for the "blow up some infidels" bit: I'm actually starting to believe that these cracks about Muslims aren't just conservative Christian "humor" but are what they actually believe Islam is about. What the hell is wrong with these people?

"This is an answer that no Christian could possibly give"

Ignorance is bliss
Ignorance is BLISS
Jesus said, stone them DEAD
If they try to fill their HEAD
With Satan's intellectual piss

9/7/2010 8:31:06 AM

The Duelist

Exactly! The ignorant know nothing.

9/7/2010 9:30:15 AM

No, a lot of Christians would say something like, "do I know those answers? No, no one does. There are things believe with all my heart, but no one can truly claim to know for sure."

9/7/2010 9:32:19 AM

And No True Scotsman either?

9/7/2010 9:41:12 AM

It’s even an answer a Muslim could give since a Muslim can’t know he’s going to paradise unless he blows up some infidels.

That statement alone proves you are an ignorant fucktard since Islam does not mandate the killing of non-believers in order for the faithful to get into Paradise.
As for Christians having an answer to all of the above questions. You may have answers but it doesn't mean they are correct.

9/7/2010 10:01:12 AM

Um...No one can truly give that answer and know what is right. Even a Muslim can't give that answer. You also might want to read the Qu'aran and Bible

9/7/2010 10:57:01 AM

Doctor Whom

Oh, no, you mean that Obama doesn't follow your brand of Christianity? We're doomed, I tell you -- doomed! I suppose that next the First Lady's astrologer will start running the show.

By the way, why should we care? Which part of "no religious test" is so difficult for you to understand?

9/7/2010 10:58:33 AM

NOBODY knows what happens after death, or what existed before the Big Bang. Anybody that claims to *know* is lying, to themselves or to others.

9/7/2010 11:08:01 AM

Or an answer a logical person would give, Christian OR not.

9/7/2010 11:42:09 AM

Thinking Allowed

But this is not an answer a Christian could give.

...and the problem here is?
