Americans blessing the Koran, particularly at this time of year, is the equivalent of Jews blessing a copy of Mein Kampf. Apparently 3,000 dead didn't get the message across. When jihadists get ahold of nukes, it will be more like 3,000,000. Maybe that will be sufficient.

There are American Muslims, you know. Nazi Jews, on the other hand, would be very hard to find.
Analogy fail. (The one thing fundies are very good at, is bad analogies).
Of the 3000 who died on 9-11, several were Muslims. In fact, nationals from roughly 70 countries perished that day, included some from Canada where I live.
Yet, I don't blame Islam and the 1.3 billion Muslims for the actions of 19 extremists, just like I don't blame all Christians for Timothy McVeigh, Scott Roeder, or Jim Adkisson.
You say all that, asshole, and yet the fact remains that the only group or country to ever employ nuclear weapons on that scale has been America. Not one of us over here from Asia or Africa, despite the fact that some of us (including my country) have had nuclear weapons for over a decade. Fuck you.
Also, there are American (white, even!) Muslims. Le gasp.
Nice job equating the deaths of a couple of thousand people to six million, you bloated egomaniac.
I am fascinated by the obsession that right-wing fundies have with nukes. And what's funny is how they're terrified that the evil brown people might get hold of one, while failing to realize that the evil brown people are probably terrified of right-wing Christians having them while they themselves don't.
That is so low.
Nukes are scary, and the possibility always remains that some crazy people might use them, but I doubt there are many who would, even among crazies. The nuclear wasteland and worldwide mutagen increase just for starters.
Millions and millions. That's the Holocaust. That's what Mein Kampf was directly inked to. Three thousand culturally tangential deaths are nothing comparable.
Godwin misunderstanding. Oi.
"This time of year" indeed. The autumn is now intrinsically linked with 9/11?
Muslims != Nazis. Analogy fail.
Yes, there are some murderous Muslim fanatics, but through history there have been murderous Christian fanatics, too. Does that make venerating the Bible comparable to venerating Mein Kampf?
Dick.
What wozza said.
9/11 was shitty...but it isn't the end of the world.
Please don't compare a few thousand people dying in one incident to millions dying over the span of a decade...it makes you (and me since we both have to share this country) look like a moron.
@Canadia
And six million is only the rough estimate of how many Jews were murdered in the Nazi Holocaust, and doesn't even take into account the slaughtered Roma, disabled, homosexuals, Communists, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other political prisoners. All in all it's more of 3,000 versus 11,000,000 or so.

"There are American Muslims, you know. Nazi Jews, on the other hand, would be very hard to find."
Not really, just Google "Nazi jews" with quotes like that. You'd be surprised.
Big difference.
For one thing, Mein Kampf was a terrible book. Even Mussolini thought so. A copy of the Koran, on the other hand, has some absolutely beautiful calligraphy.

This Van Helsing asshole is truly sick. I know everyone at Moonbattery is fucked up beyond measure, but VH here seems to go for the jugular the most as far as vulgarity AND mendacity are concerned.
It's to the point where you really wonder if he can actually believe even one quarter of the shit he writes...Iran's nukes replicating the Holocaust? Nice one, dickhead. I personally know a Holocaust (and Munich Olympics massacre) survivor and I seriously doubt he'd concur with your logic.
Next up: Gay marriage is the equivalent of the Argentine Dirty Wars!
There are American muslims out there who, what a coincidence, happened to have a beloved one victim of 9/11. And there are Christians who happened to lose a beloved one in Oklahoma. So, think twice before saying something.
Disconnect alert. Nukes and Koran = disconnect. Nuts and Nukes you do mean asshole, religion ain't got shit to do with terrorism! Crazy and terrorism go together, and there's plenty of crazy in Christianity too. Fed building in Oklahoma anyone?
Well, I can kind of see his point in comparing 9/11 to the Holocaust, even if the size and scale is different and the analogy breaks down at a certain point. Both were perpetrated by a group of fanatics hellbent on causing death to innocents - the one for racial reasons, the other for primarily religious reasons, mixed with a reaction to failed U.S. foreign policy. Both were carried out by jackasses, and both sets of jackasses should be speedily dispatched to the firey netherworld.
That being said, I'm kind of baffled by this Koran blessing business, seeing as how I live in the U.S. and all. It's funny, but no one has ever asked me to bless a Koran. I was just talking to the mayor last night, in fact, and he didn't even mention this new ordinance. My boss has been mum on it, and none of the newspapers are mentioning it. It feel kind of left out; I must have missed my invitation to the Koran blessing party. :-(
3000 Dead from a terrorist attack that harbored hate from Gulf-War era and demanded vengance =! Three million dead by a dystopian goverment that hunted every last jew down, threw them into death camps, watched them suffer and killed them en masse.
Call me when you have somethin comparable to the actual holocaust.
Nazis = A whole political goverment.
9/11 = A group of radical extremists.
See the difference? Eh, probablly not since you're a member of Moonbattery. Just keep hitting your head with a bible wrapped in an american flag...
Confused?
