Quote# 76217

People compare past Muslim immigration with the present, but this is wrong. Past immigrants were Christian Muslims who were persecuted by Islamic Muslims. They have no more ideals of jihad than any Christian. What we have problems with today is the mass immigration of radicalized Muslims, the ones who love their conservative teachings. You recognize them by their dress.

Past immigrants were Christian Muslims who were persecuted by Islamic Muslims.

And I'm a Christian atheist.

To be fair, exxon does hail from the nation that refers to people as "African American" apparently perfectly seriously, so his confusion is probably understandable.

"People compare past Muslim immigration with the present, but this is wrong. Past immigrants were Christian Muslims who were persecuted by Islamic Muslims."

You really shouldn't try to use words you don't know the meaning of.

"They have no more ideals of jihad than any Christian."

Isn't the idea of "culture wars" that of Christians? How about the Inquisition? Maybe the Crusades?

Sounds to me like you just use a different word to describe the same sentiment.

"What we have problems with today is the mass immigration of radicalized Muslims, the ones who love their conservative teachings."

The problem is conservative teachings in general, be they from Islam, Christianity or the Republicans.

"You recognize them by their dress."

Well, you get points for not saying you can recognize them by their skin color.

Ooh, next time someone brings up that "the founding fathers were Christians", I'm so going to reply, "Yes, but they were atheist Christians, not theist Christians like you!"

"Christian Muslims who were persecuted"

Like Barack Obama? After all, if he were a Muslim Muslim, he wouldn't be doing this now, would he?:

You said it, I didn't. Thanks for clearing that up for us, exxon. Now, how about spreading the word to all the teabaggers, neocons etc who believe Obama is a 'secret Muslim', hmmmmm?

"What we have problems with today is the mass immigration of radicalized Muslims, the ones who love their conservative teachings. You recognize them by their dress."

And what we have problems with today, is the mass bullshit of radicalised right-wing Fundamentalist Christians, the ones who love their conservative teachings. To borrow from Matthew 7:16:

'Ye shall know them by their fruits' indeed.

Aw, you missed out his earlier comment, where he hits every single racist cliche in under 150 words.

"@andwho are u? Your own American Indians were full of cruelty and atrocities. They were not the "spiritual and innocents" they are being portrayed as, more than Mayans with their human sacrifices. Why your white hatred all the time? 1% of white Americans had slaves during slavery which was far less than what Africans had. In fact, freed slaves themselves kept slaves. Africans kept slaves all the time. How were the pyramids built?.. You blame whites for all the worlds problems. Over 3 million Europeans were enslaved by the largest slave trader in the world: moors. No one bothers to mention this. You are racist towards a single race who has given you more freedom than any nationality on earth. If you don't believe this, research each nation and see what is happening around the world. The only societies with equality for everyone is the very white societies you detest so much."

"mass immigration of radicalized Muslims, the ones who love their conservative teachings."

Mrs. Antichrist

It's the Islamic Christians you really have to watch out for.

Edit: Also, all Muslims have 'ideals of Jihad', given that Jihad is the struggle to remain faithful, similar to Christians resisting the temptation of sin. It can take the form of a holy war, but 99.9% of the time it doesn't. The word literally means 'struggle', and even in the context of Islam, it's a very generalized term.
