Quote# 76565

The producers of South Park are confessed atheist progressives with an agenda towards anarchy and the destruction of morality and decency. It is a blasphemous program that only godless people with no spiritual connection to a God of Righteousness could find any humor in it. The destruction of the morality of society is the destruction of society and all those who love this program love death and destruction.

Syfy's version of morality must consist in imposing his narrow views on everyone else. If he had his way, we would never have left the Dark Ages behind.

No, they're confessed libertarians.

When did they confess to have agenda towards anarchy and the destruction of morality and decency?

While their views have probably slipped out somewhere, my understanding is that they generally try to avoid stating what they actually do or don't believe, because once you take a position somebody can make fun of it - and they can't have that. If you'd ever watched South Park you'd know that the golden mean fallacy is their bread-and-butter; All you have to do to seem balanced and wise is to make fun of everybody and never actually take a stance on a controversial issue.

Yeah! And if anyone tries to tell you any different, just give them these famous quotations.

"I'm completely mad for God, I really, really, REALLY, flip for Him." - Albert Einstein

"Oh! What a rash, self indulgent fool I've been. I'm so sorry God. Please let me back into your heart." - Charles Darwin

"I'm really a very nice chap underneath all this super-villain clobber. You should see me of an evening sitting in front of the fire, contentedly puffing away on my pipe, quietly reading the paper, with the dog curled up at my slippered feet gently snoozing and dreaming of dinosaur thigh bones. The dog, that is, not me, usually" - Pope Benedict XVI

I'm a "godless people with no spiritual connection to a God of Righteousness," and I grew bored with South Park years ago. That's why I don't watch it any more, and I suggest you do the same if it annoys you so much.

Progressives my ass. Those guys are hard core libertarians. I think SyfyFreak here has been taking a few too many pages from the Glen Beck program.

If you think that South Park is trying to destroy morality and decency, then you've never actually watched it. Quite a few episodes have a moral lesson to teach from Stan's occasional "You know what? I've learned something..." speeches at the end.

Oh and I guess you missed the episode where they made fun of atheists? You know, the one where Cartman froze himself because he couldn't wait for the Wii to come out and got thawed out in the 25th century. The future was filled with atheists who were at war over what to call themselves, and they were saying things like "praise science" and "science damn it" as if they worshiped science like the fundies claim atheists do. Not to mention the scenes with Richard Dawkins having sex with Mr./Mrs. Garrison.

But fundies have to be either completely stupid or totally deluded to think that any TV program will cause the destruction of society.

"Basically ... out of all the ridiculous religion stories which are greatly, wonderfully ridiculous — the silliest one I've ever heard is, 'Yeah ... there's this big giant universe and it's expanding, it's all gonna collapse on itself and we're all just here just 'cause ... just 'cause'. That, to me, is the most ridiculous explanation ever."

Are these the atheist progressives you're talking about now?

South Park makes fun of EVERYBODY, even atheists. If you get more offended when it's your group, then tough shit.

The producers of South Park are confessed atheist progressives

IIRC, one of them is Jewish and the other was raised Catholic. And anyway they make fun of atheists just as much as they make fun of anyone else so what's the problem? Can't take it when it's YOUR group that's made fun of?

with an agenda towards anarchy and the destruction of morality and decency

Libertarianism=/=anarchy. And really the main difference between libertarians and conservatives is that libertarians don't want the government telling you who you can and cannot sleep with as in, they're actually for LIBERTY.

It is a blasphemous program that only godless people with no spiritual connection to a God of Righteousness could find any humor in it.

Bullshit. I know many Christians (some very religious) that enjoy the show. Of course their idea of god is one that has a freaking sense of humor and is way too big to be offended by such things. In fact, I've noticed that a person's god is always just as offended as they are. That's quite a coincidence.

all those who love this program love death and destruction.

In a fantasy setting, sure, but that's no different from watching a mob movie or horror film. But just like people don't want some psychopath lurking in the dark ready to jump them as soon as they let their guard down or to have a ruthless gang that has the cops in their pocket in real life, nobody would ever want the shit that happens in South Park to happen in real life. Crapsack worlds are only fun when they're fictional.

"The producers of South Park are confessed atheist progressives with an agenda towards anarchy and the destruction of morality and decency."

The first two of those are probably correct. The rest of that you seem to have made up on the spot.

"It is a blasphemous program that only godless people with no spiritual connection to a God of Righteousness could find any humor in it."

So? If you don't like it then go watch the 700 Club and send in your "love offering" and shut the fuck up. You have your programming and the rest of us have real television.

"The destruction of the morality of society is the destruction of society and all those who love this program love death and destruction."

So, there's to be destruction? Is that what you're trying to say?

Us atheist progressives do not "confess" our understanding of the universe, we proclaim it.

Yes, South Park is blasphemous to overly sensitive nitwits such as you. It's sacred cows which make the best kabobs.

"The producers of South Park are confessed atheist progressives with an agenda towards anarchy and the destruction of morality and decency."

The civility, morality and decency of right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity, as exampled by the likes of Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Faggard, Kent Hovind, Tony Alamo, Timothy McVeigh and Scott Roeder? If so, then good. It deserves to be utterly annihilated.

"It is a blasphemous program that only godless people with no spiritual connection to a God of Righteousness could find any humor in it."

Good. That's who the series is aimed at. People don't have the right to be not offended, you know. Ever hear of the 'Channel +/-' and 'On/Off' buttons on the remote control? Use them.

"The destruction of the morality of society is the destruction of society and all those who love this program love death and destruction."
