Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights.
What rights have the court stripped you of? Name them? And by rights I mean rights that you are actually afforded by the US Constitution, not rights you wish you had, such as the right to never have to be offended, or the right to have your religion receive preferrential status
Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing.
What court, judge, or law has removed your right to pray whenever the fuck you please? Now one can or ever has been sued for saying a prayer. Institutions hoever, can and have been sued for church/state violations.
Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.
I can only assume you are referring to both school prayer and invocations at city/town council meetings, and Neither of those takes away your right to pray.
The first ended the thourghly unconstitutional practice of mandatory teacher led christian prayer in public schools, a practice that paid no mind to the religious beliefs, or lack thereof, of the students or teachers. Children and teachers alike can still pray in class whenever they ant, they just cannot compel or require anyone else to participate with them. There is not, nor has ever been a court ruling or law that says "No One May Pray in School, Ever."
The second is even more nonsensical since the right to hold an invocation at city council meetings has been upheld. The only caveat is that the invocation may not be sectarian in nature, if for no other reason than the fact that it is exceedingly rare to find a city or town where the whole of the population, or even the whole of the council, belongs to a single religion or denomination. Further more there is nothing stopping you, or anyone else from saying a prayer to yourself.
God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.
I'm not going to sue you, since Lying For Jesus, like prayer and religious belief, isn't legally actionable. You could pray to YHWH, Shiva, Allah, or the Backstreet Boys and no one could sue you over it.
