i think keith hit the nail on the head. i work with muslims and they are the most racist assholes ive ever seen. but its not viewed as racist unless i spew their bullshit back at them. im sick of political correctness. there is alot of good to be said of the 1950s. it was a simpler and more wholesome period. God was prominent in our culture. Now we have kicked God out and we are welcoming allah. im scared of how canada will look in 50 years. i believe we will be a muslim nation.

Dunno what the '50s were like in Canada, but man, they sure were wholesome in the States!

Let's see... segregation was JUST starting to be dismantled, though it and other forms of culturally-inculcated racism were still very prevalent.

US society had a complete disregard for genital integrity for boys (something like a 80%-90% rate for medically unnecessary, purely cultural secular circumcisions that were performed WITHOUT anaesthesia) AND girls (Blue Cross covered FGM up until the mid-'50s) AND people of indeterminate sex (applied to boys with small penises and girls with large clitorises). Unnecessary, painful, and disfiguring and nerve-numbing surgery for EVERYONE, potentially, meant that no one got left out!

Being gay meant you had a mental disorder and could be packed off by your parents to an insane asylum that treated you like shit and kicked your ass for being different.

So... racism, genital mutilation, and being gay = horrible treatment if found out.

Good times, man, good times.

Also, here's a little protip: The "simple" and "wholesome" 1950s that your type constantly romanticizes and yearns for never existed. Life back then was nothing like the extremely idealized and sanitized version of America depicted on "Leave it to Beaver" and the other black-and-white shows still airing on TV Land. The same social ills and domestic problems that exist today still very much existed back then too--maybe even to a greater extent. During that era, those issues were just swept under the rug and ignored instead of acknowledged and dealt with like they are today.

However, methinks you are actually implicitly referring to the fact other races and "diffrunt people" "knew their place" back then. Unfortunately, that oppressive and racist 1950s did very much exist, but thankfully (and unfortunately for you I suppose), it's long gone.

That said, what the hell were the 1950's like? Saying that "we should go back there" makes no sense to me, as I wasn't even there to experience them in the first place.

From what I understand, though, people were paranoid about Communism and terrified 24/7 about being nuked into oblivion. Was that any way to live?

I daresay many people who grew up in the 50's are paranoid old coots because of it. And because they hold the reins of power now, that paranoia influences a lot of our domestic and foreign policy (it translates into the fear-mongering that's been so prevalent in the last 20 or so years).

Except man has proven again and again his collective memory is not precise when considered over time. In other words, we can look back on the "good ol' days" but we see them through very thick, rose-colored glasses.

Not familiar with Canada's constitution so I really can't comment but there's a good parallel for the USA:

The 1st Ammendment puts all religions on equal footing in America. Through open immigration which is one of our corner stones, the demographics of the whole nation have changed over the decades. There's a good possibility that Islam or another can become the dominant religion in America over Christianity. There is no constitutional mechanism in place to stop this as it would violate the Establishment Clause.

We either accept this as how our Founding Fathers saw the future of the USA or we vilify them for failing to put in the safeguards to perpetuate their creation in its original form.

i am so scared of these people,one on one,i could beat the shit out of everyone of them i have met so far,i think there going to take our country,and no one cares,they say what we going to do kick them out,well when our race is loseing abattle you have to do what ever it takes,i can see a canada with no white people,my Great Grandfather gave his life in WW1 and my Grandfather fought in WW2,i can;t even buy a gun to portect my family,im a 10 gen
