Attention atheists: Please get a life!
More evidence that atheists quite often tend to be white, unmarried, socially challenged nerds! An atheists' meeting was organized in the United States concerning the future direction of the atheist movement and 370 people attended. The New York Times described the attendees as "The largely white and male crowd — imagine a Star Trek convention, but older..."[1] For more information, please see Atheism appears to be significantly less appealing to women
Atheists, please consider the advice that William Shatner gave to Trekkies in a comedy skit: Get a life! VIDEO

Technically, this isn't Andy writing this, but a user named "Conservative" on his site. Not that Andy would disagree or anything.

Conservative actually writes more psychotic "articles" (really just arguments with the voices in his head) than Schlafly himself, but most of them are so dull and repetitive (not to mention insanely long) they're not even worth submitting here.

Conservapedia, the idea that you consider yourselves a reliable source for anything other than a case study on neurotic behavior is laughable. (It would be depressing if anyone outside your project took you seriously; luckily, they don't.)

I am a young, Caucasian female who hates Star Trek and in a loving long term relationship (waiting to get married so I can immigrate to the USA where he lives).

Everyone I know are atheists, and a lot of them are females. In fact, I think I recall having 1 Christian girl in my high school class, who was totally being debunked by all the atheists around her (plus the teacher was an atheist!) then left the next year.

What does that tell you Andy? That you're a moron and need to die in a fire.

Grammar is your friend. And you accuse atheists of being white, socially challenged when your entire claim to fame is making a politically and religiously oriented internet encyclopedia...

Is it wrong that THIS is the thing that makes me call Poe on Schlafly?

Edit: Okay, so it wasn't Schalfly who wrote this. So, I retract the Poe joke and revise my second sentence to say "when you obsessively contribute to a politically...". Same basic idea!

They also tend to be much more highly educated than theists, more widely read, and far more tolerant of other's beliefs. Such a pity that atheists tend to demonstrate more Christian values than your run-of-the-mill Christian, but reality, as they say, tends to oppose theism.

Richard Dawkins is married to frigging LALLA WARD. You know, the ACTRESS? Blonde, quite the looker in her prime, not too bad now? Yeah. PZ Myers has a son IN THE MILITARY.

Anyway, congratulations, Andy, on both pissing off Atheists AND Star Trek fans AND a good chunk of the white unmarried introverted nerd readership of the Internet! I think that's like...75% of the people ON the Internet. So you're actually doing more for our cause than we ever could.

Over and above the obvious, I've got to call you on basing your generalization on the attendees of a single meeting. I know that I wouldn't have been able to attend due to the needs of my wife and children.

I don't really think of myself as a nerd, but I am somewhat well-read.

Calling me 'white' is fairly accurate even though I have some black friends who are lighter-skinned than I am.

So you've got the 'male' part right about me.

Wow! Not even pretending to be anywhere near Wikipedia's quality standard are you. I thought this was from a teeny bopper bulletin board not an "encyclopedia."

Kind of going off of what Wehpudicabok is saying, either Conservative, the actual writer of this post, is a poe to the highest degree, or one extremely shallow individual.

Either way, this post doesn't sound like it came from someone who was a big man/queen bee on campus in high school or college.

Yeah, I guess some 400 people can be the rule of thumb for every group eh?
I guess that makes Christians dumber than atheists and more prone to getting divorces with the spose they vowed to their God to stay with forever.

Maybe Andy's on to something. White fellas, let's all date some ladies of color and de-convert them. If they're not enthused with atheism, tell them God says you need to get a life!

It comes as news to me that there is such a thing as an 'Athiest movement' and that, if it exists at all, it needs a 'Future direction'. It must have been a short meeting.

" What shall we do ?"
" Carry on not believing ?"
" Works for me. See you all next year"

Q) "Why are there no Christians on Star Trek?"

A) "Star Trek is set in the future."

Atheist meeting? o_o Uhh... why?
Let's all get together and talk about how much God we don't worship? I'm kind of lost on the point to that. It's not a religion.

Now lets compare Star Trek conventions and Church Services!

Star Trek sucks. Babylon 5 now ...

(created by an atheist!)

I wonder if "Please get a life!" is a euphemistic phrase for:- Please believe the nonsense I spout and stop mocking its idiocy!

Should I abstain from the mocking of driveling idiots and take up a faith in odd beliefs? Perhaps "Please get a life!" really means:- "Please believe in an invisible sky fairy and indulge in insanity by attempting to make reality fit in an exact and literal way the lunatic texts contained in the book about the sky fairy. In fact, the book about the sky fairy tells everyone to be unjust and violent, and is the perfect reflection of the mind of an insecure and frightened individual who likes to kill what he doesn't understand, is inclined to harm anyone who is a stranger to him and his tribe and kill anyone who doesn't abide by the rules he pretends that his sky fairy made up. Admittedly, it's mostly a form of male insecurity, but it spreads equally well among females too. Please pay particular attention to the gibberish spouted by me, Andrew Schlafly."

Exactly as many Christians who attend the church's matching site. You can't fall lower.

Andy, take my advice and kiss my ass. At least i'm not you, an insane person who would get his ass kicked by the chess team.
