Attention Atheists: Please get a life and stop writing articles about liberal conspiracies and revising the bible so it fits your views! Geez!
10/24/2010 11:58:36 AM
Yes, I'm an atheist and white, but I'm also female and married.
Oh, and yes, I'm bit challenged socially at the moment, but that's because I'm (almost) on my own in a weird country with weird language and _different_ culture ;)
10/24/2010 11:59:14 AM
demons made this douplepost!
10/24/2010 11:59:46 AM
I think the last time I heard "get a life" as a "valid" insult was when I was in grade school.

More evidence that atheists quite often tend to be white, unmarried, socially challenged nerds!
Not sure what being white has to do with anything but unmarried nerds tend to make a lot of money and make successes of themselves. They also tend to be more intelligent and thoughtful people and those with high IQ do tend to have more problems socially for some reason. It might just be because the rest of us are idiots and they just don't know how to interact at our level. Intelligent people DO tend to despise small talk. Anyway, enough of my rambling. The point is that I'm not sure how what you said was supposed to be an insult.
An atheists' meeting was organized in the United States concerning the future direction of the atheist movement and 370 people attended. The New York Times described the attendees as "The largely white and male crowd — imagine a Star Trek convention, but older..." For more information, please see Atheism appears to be significantly less appealing to women
1) That's a blatant lie as there are just as many atheist women as men.
2) So what if atheists aren't popular (assuming for the sake of argument that you're not full of shit)? This isn't fucking middle school. I know most fundies have no experience beyond that but you learn in college and in the professional world that the popular guy isn't always right and usually it's the quiet guy who sits in the cubicle by himself while everyone's out to lunch that really knows what he's doing.
Atheists, please consider the advice that William Shatner gave to Trekkies in a comedy skit: Get a life! VIDEO
Trekkies also tend to be intelligent nerds. This whole thing reminds me of people picking on the nerds in middle school. You really sound like a bully that goes around stealing lunch money and stuffing people in lockers. Usually it's these bullies that end up leading sad lives because they're so damn insecure and that's why they have to tear others down.

Ehh this is actually semi-true. To a certain degree the "atheist movement" or whatever its called is somewhat of a privileged white male club.
(And I am an atheist white boy who has still never even kissed a girl.)
10/24/2010 1:31:50 PM
So becoming a Christian makes you popular? Whatever happened to "boo hoo, the world hates us cause we're Christians!" Sorry pal, you can't have it both ways!
10/24/2010 3:52:14 PM
What the hell does white have to be with it, you racist?
10/24/2010 5:01:45 PM
Attention Andrew Schlafly, Go **** yourself. (And I'm not an atheist.)
10/24/2010 7:34:30 PM
Oh yeah, I've heard of this shit
My reply is on a skeptic forum
in case Mariano doesn't publish it.

atheists Fundies quite often tend to be white, unmarried, socially challenged nerds"
10/24/2010 8:17:26 PM
So, one atheists social event consisting of a small sample of mainly males who may or may not be nerds means that all atheists are?
What can you expect from someone who bases his belief of all different groups on stereotypes?
10/24/2010 8:35:31 PM
Given the New York times described this "meeting of atheists" (which usually refers to meetings where scientists like PZ Myers and R Dawkins attend) I'm guessing it was in New York.
Now let me think, if I gather scientists in New York, USA, a predominantly white country, a profession predominantly of older people, predominantly drawn from better educated (read privileged) people which in the USA tends to exclude non-whites and non-males. I wonder why this meeting would be predominantly white male and old? Could it be structural distributions of wealth and opportunity in the USA and New York and the correlation between educations standards and atheism?
Or are they just smelly poopyhead losers?
10/24/2010 8:53:46 PM
Nerds are sexy, Dammit!!!
10/25/2010 12:18:19 AM
Are any of them "teh ghey"
Cos I'm single, luuuuurve video games and Star Trek, and no god, and those thin lips and heavy brow many Caucasian guys have :-3

10/25/2010 1:02:20 AM
I would say that's pretty flimsy. Literal believers in the bible like yourself seem to be mostly inbred and ill-educated. Probably from home-schooling and home-loving, if you know what I mean.
10/25/2010 4:01:26 AM
Unlike the religious, we are not waiting for someone to claim authority and tell us how to live our lives.
10/25/2010 5:24:54 AM
So atheists are smart - who woulda thunk?
10/25/2010 5:34:17 AM
Wait, I thought we were all atheists so we could be hedonistic & partake in various sex acts without having to worry about being punished in an afterlife?
10/25/2010 6:37:39 AM
Um, Andy...I'm a woman, and I find atheism MORE appealing than any form of religion; most of them are misogynistic.

"Attention atheists: Please get a life!"
"Atheists, please consider the advice that William Shatner gave to Trekkies in a comedy skit: Get a life!"
That was part of a skit by William Shatner. Done in an ironic way.
Y'know. Irony. What people outside the US (and many within the US; fortunately they're the intelligent, non-fundie types) recognise.
PROTIP: William Shatner is Canadian. Also, the character he portrays, James Tiberius Kirk, was created by Star Trek's creator Gene Roddeberry. Who once said:
'We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes.'
The late great Gene Roddenberry was an Atheist.
Now do you see the irony of your statement, Andy Schaftafly? Oh, of course not; how silly of me?! You're an American - and a fundie one, at that:
"They really do have an irony deficiency. I honestly believe that in certain parts of America now, people have started to mate with vegetables."
- Jeremy Clarkson, "Top Gear"
Attention right-wing Fundamentalist Christians (including you Andy Schaftafly): your so-called 'God' doesn't exist. Your whole 'beliefs' are based on a book of fairytales.
Please get a life!
At least we Sci-Fi fans acknowledge that what we see/read isn't real (not yet, anyway! Remember: the science fiction of the past is the science fact of today. Jules Verne predicted the invention of the Fax Machine in "Around The World in 80 Days". Think on that).
'More evidence that atheists quite often tend to be white, unmarried, socially challenged nerds!'
"You doth protest too much!"
Clearly there are no mirrors in the Schaftafly household (not even of the extremely shiny kind). Because then he'd be able to see the irony of his statement. (*Slaps forehead*) Oh, how stupid of me! Andy wouldn't know irony if it jumped up and raped him in the ear, like a Ceti Eel! [/Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan]
[/nerd, and proud of it!]
10/25/2010 9:34:38 AM
The atheist movement? A group of people that define themselves primarily on what they don't believe in is rather sad.
10/25/2010 10:47:57 AM
Hey Andy, step out of your safe little box and into the light of honest discussion. What? You're a cowardly little fraud with no life yourself? Well, imagine that.
10/25/2010 11:04:26 AM
I know plenty of women atheists(including myself.)
We have a life thank you.And one not revolving around a magical sky daddy.
