Quote# 77072

I agree with you. I believe that the human race has probably lost brain capacity over the centuries, due to the curse of sin. There are still a lot of very intellignet people in this world, but I believe the average intellect has probably declined significantly.

We sin, therefore we get dumber? That...wouldn't be an effective way of getting rid of sin.

I read about the afterlife

Oh yes, the Dark Ages were absolutey fraught with genius!

Wait a minute, you admitted that intelligence has something to do with brain capacity....
You just outed yourself as a science sympathizer!

Papabear

Just because YOU'RE a retard doesn't mean that all humanity has been losing intelligence.

10/25/2010 9:24:35 AM

Sisyphus

I partially agree but I think the lack of intelligence is due to nanny states protecting stupid people thus allowing them to reach adulthood in order to breed. Since they are protected they seem to outbreed the intelligent people so it's a self perpetuating cycle.

Also: MTV.

In the USA the average intellect has dropped yes. In the rest of the developed world it's only increasing.

Oddly enough it's dropping in the USA thanks to idiots like yourself.

I doubt that's true about humanity, but I'm certain it's true when it comes to rapture ready posters.

I honestly do not understand how a human being could believe that the "curse of sin" is causing people to get stupid. I mean seriously, what the fuck is the matter with these idiots?

Are you putting yourself up as supporting evidence for this hypothesis?

10/25/2010 1:26:57 PM

Brendan Rizzo

And your proof of this is? Where are the ancient writings that describe highly advanced science (like quantum mechanics?) Where are the writings that no human now alive can understand as the ideas therein are too complicated for our brains to handle? Where are the highly advanced structures that no human with Stone or Bronze Age technology could build? (PROTIP: The pyramids could be built with Stone Age tech, so they don't count.) Hell, where are the fossils of Homo sapiens with larger brains than us? Neanderthals were a different species entirely, so if you count them (ignoring the fact that larger brain does not necessarily mean more intelligent) then, by definition, you believe in (gasp!) EVOLUTION.

There are still smart people. You just never talk to them.

Actually, tests of intelligence have gotten harder over the years to maintain B/70% as the average mark.

And since the first sin in Christianity was consuming the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, I think that sin should theoretically increase brain capacity. You don't know your Bible.

Oh, god, that's just *too* easy. I do have some standards.

Not the curse of sin, but the very concept of "sin" is what has set us back. Imagine where we could be, had organized religion not chained us down for 2,000 years...

@Sisyphus "I partially agree but I think the lack of intelligence is due to nanny states protecting stupid people thus allowing them to reach adulthood in order to breed. Since they are protected they seem to outbreed the intelligent people so it's a self perpetuating cycle. "

Yeah, that's exactly what is happening. I mean, it's a very commonly known and easily observable fact that poverty tend to decrease birth rates. This is also why the European nanny-states are populated by morons, and why they're so jealous of America's present situation.

Overused liberetardian bullshit is overused.

However, you don't have any problem of using internet without ever considering where it comes from.

Jezebel's Evil Sister

The Internet, as well as all other things that we un-"intellignet" people think arose in the 20th and 21st centuries, were actually invented by cavemen inspired by the one true gawd. But stone-age atheists and the pre-dawn media managed to prevent that bit of news from reaching the public.
