Quote# 77114

Self is the atheist's god. He serves his god fervently and intensely to the bitter end. Self-worship is the basest worship of all. They choose self instead of Christ, and desire to live comfortably, having no thought or care for God. The atheist loves himself, enjoys himself, and will soon damn himself. They lead a thoughtless and careless life in the deceitfulness and delusion of Sin. Your profession of atheism is a mere sham. Every atheist lives in contempt of God's court. There is a divine warrant out for your arrest tonight.

Essentially, I can't actually prove my claims, so here's some wrongheaded attempt to make you look bad, nah-nah-nah-boo-boo-Jesus-loves-me-and-not-you!

Bitch, please. Tell this court of yours to take the warrant and shove it up the prosecutor's ass.

Hey, Call-Upon, you're missing some great parties.

". . . .is the atheist's god. "

Let me tell you what atheist means . . .

Let's fix that for you: "The Bible is the fundie's god. He serves his god fervently and intensely to the bitter end. Bible-worship is the basest worship of all. They choose Bible instead of Christ, and desire to live with constant hatred in their minds, having no thought or care for God or fellow humans. The fundie loves the Bible, enjoys the Bible, and have already damned the Bible. They lead a thoughtless and careless life in the deceitfulness and delusion of knowing the intent of Biblical life." And I'm not going to fix the rest of this bullshit, because I'm running out of bad analogies and the warehouse guys tend to get peeved if I go over my monthly bad analogy quota.

Every atheist lives in contempt of God's court.

I don't recognize the validity of God's court because he has a gold fringe around the U.S. flag indicating that it's an admirality court.

Whew... I've been spending way too much time studying militia nutjobs.

Atheists have no deity. LaVeyan Satanists are atheistic in their beliefs but they are a small sect and generally more hedonistic. But not all atheists are like that. And no even the self is not their god. Damn you fail

This person is actually well-written. Too bad he has decided to waste this talent on Christianity.

How hard is it to look up the word atheist In the dictionary?

What's wrong with enjoying yourself and loving yourself? And, who wouldn't want to live comfortably if they had the ability and/or means to?

I dunno if "self" is my god, but I definitely know that I do exist and that anything I do for myself will not be wasted. And yes, I do love myself (or I've accepted myself, at any rate).

What a load of judgemental BS. I thought Christians were commanded not to judge others. Strange are the ways of the cherry-pickers.

Well, there are so many definitions of God floating around that I suppose that if you define God as the most important thing in someone's life or something that someone is dedicated towards worshipping, then I suppose that the self would be the God of some atheists. But couldn't atheists instead then worship their loved ones or an ideal if they think that those are more important that themselves?

However, I'm pretty sure that this isn't the standard definition of God. I typically define a god as either a conscious entity that created the universe or a supernatural entity that can exert some sort of control or influence on at least certain aspects of reality (and is usually worshipped for it). I consider these definitions to be fairly broad, but the Self doesn't fit into either of them. I really wish people wouldn't change the definitions of words for whatever suits their purpose, but if you are using the word God to mean something different here, I'm willing to accept your usage -- however, if you are going to use a word in a way that it would not typically be defined, please at least clarify your usage, because otherwise it's going to leave everyone else confused.

I don't think that even atheistic LaVeyan Satanists would typically say that they consider themselves to be God -- and the main idea behind LaVeyan Satanism is worship of the self, as far as I understand. (Note: I am not a LaVeyan Satanists and I realize that I could be wrong. If I am, I apologize to the LaVeyan Satanists out there. Actually, if there are any LaVeyan Satanists reading this, I'd appreciate it if you dealt with Call-Upon-Jesus's comment, because I feel that you could probably tackle it the best.)

"The atheist loves himself"

Indeed I do; my right arm's like 50 pounds of pure muscle by now.

Once again: if you want to know about an atheist, go ask a religious fanatic.

Self is the theist's god. He serves his god furtively and insanely to the bitter end. Self-worship is the basest worship of all. They choose self and call it Christ in their denial, secretly believing that they are the mouthpiece for God. The theist loves himself, and enjoys himself through imposing his ("God's") will upon others like a spoiled child. They lead a thoughtless and careless life in the deceitfulness and delusion of "Sin". Your profession of theism is a mere sham. You are a delusional solipsist. Every theist lives in contempt of that reality.

See how easy that was?

Why does an all-powerful God need an asshole like you to advance his agenda?

I just don't get why fundies are so certain that people have to grovel before something, no matter what it is, every waking moment.

Hey, I can make ignorant judgments about other people's lives too! But I won't, because that's beneath me.

Wouldn't that be autotheism?

I was actually taught in Sunday school that self esteem was a liberal lie meant to turn us away from god. Imagine telling that to an 8 year old.
I only wish I remember the name of that teacher so I could punch his face in. Oh and yours too, call-upon-jeebus.

They choose self instead of Christ

WTF does this mean? This is one of those "feel good" nonsense expressions that religious nuts use to disguise the fact that they have no idea what they're talking about. What would someone actually do if they chose "Christ" instead of "self"? Go to some church? Pray every day? Give all their money to the poor, as Jesus recommends?

Hah! - I could just see Call-Upon-Jesus ready to pay a nickel more income tax to keep some unemployed brown-skinned person in another state from dying because they couldn't afford health care.

What part of NOT BELIEVING IN ANY GODS AT ALL, makes you think that we worship ourselves?

Oh my Self, I had no idea that this was the case.

Thank you for telling me what I believe, Call-Upon-Jebus!
