Quote# 77142

My years have taught me that the litmus test of a REAL Christian is marriage and birth control. Real Christians stay married till death and have as many children as God sends. They don't use birth control. If I see a person who calls themselves Christian and is divorced and remarried, I know that they are hypocrites. If I see a couple with no children because they use birth control, I know they have not God's Grace.

How many Christians like that do you know?

So...unmarried Christians aren't "REAL" Christians?

Christian couples who are infertile or otherwise childless aren't "REAL" Christians?

Sanctimonious, much?

Do you have magic X-ray eyes that allow you to see whether a couple is using birth control, or is just infertile? Because unless they tell you, it's kind of hard to tell whether or not they're using birth control. And if someone has remarried, unless they tell you, how do you know that they weren't widowed and remarried after their first spouse died?

Jesus was never married and did not have any kids. At least nothing of the sort is mentioned in the Bible, and you'd think it would. So by his definition, Jesus Christ was not a real christian.

Hm. And here I thought most REAL Christians were held to the standard of "Judge not" and all that jazz.

"If I see a person who calls themselves Christian and is divorced and remarried, I know that they are hypocrites."

Odd, I was just about to say the same of people who call themselves Christian and tend to other people's sins while ignoring their own pride and self-righteous judgment.

How much cognitive dissonance is generated by these people? Despite their endless rants about the tyranny of a liberal/Communist "Big Brother" government, they're doing the exact thing (telling people what they can't do with their own bodies/lives) that they're paranoid about.

My mother got married at 16 and had three children to a guy who beat and raped her on a regular basis. She left him in 1954 and took the kids with her. In those days she might as well have been a prostitute in everyone's eyes. She met my dad in 56 then I was born in 71. She stayed with my dad until he died in 1995, that's nearly 40 years, they were never married, but they were never apart. I don't think there are many so called "christians" who are anywhere near as committed to their partners as my mother and father were to each other. So blow it out your ass, you silly cunt. And yes, I'm a bastard. But technically so's Jeebuz, cos Mary wasn't married to his real dad.

The conservative movement is a mystery cult. As soon as you start advancing in it, the leaders stop pretending to believe in their own public pronouncements. As a former College Republican (although I have since reptented), I know these things.

Wow, and I thought the bible was against judging. What if these Christians got divorced because they were in an abusive relationship? What if they have to use birth control because they have health problems that causes them to possibly die if they have a baby?

"And yes, I'm a bastard."

Good to know your mother found true happiness. Fortunately not having a father who was unmarried at the time makes you none the less a decent human being. If only fundies would realise that?

"But technically so's Jeebuz, cos Mary wasn't married to his real dad."

Mary was effectively raped by God. Curious isn't it, how so many cases of rape occur in the Bible Belt states, hmmmmmm? As do incest amongst redneck right-wing fundies. And the whole basis of the Bible - Genesis - is incest.

Coincidence? You decide...

Ahhh, the argument for "real" Christianity. Classic case of nincompoopary.

While hard-liners making this argument often cut off the fringes off of Christianity, eejits like this cut Christianity off of it's fringes.

So it doesn't matter what I believe about Jesus and his teachings, the fact that I'm never having children means I'm a fake.

Headache

Another ignorant religious American douchebag.

Of course real life data shows a different picture, but why would anyone expect an American to adhere to reality?

Divorce Rate:
Rank Countries Amount
# 1 United States: 4.95 per 1,000 people
# 2 Puerto Rico: 4.47 per 1,000 people
# 3 Russia: 3.36 per 1,000 people

Good fucking grief, you people are really fucking stupid!

Yet another self-righteous, judgemental asshole deciding for him/herself how everyone else should live. This person somehow just "knows" that if he/she sees a couple walking down the street without children in tow, they're evil sinners using birth control.

It took my wife & I many years to have a baby due to infertility problems. If this idiot would have chastised me for using birth control because we didn't have any kids, I'd probably have punched them.

As far as "real Christians" go, either all Christians are real Christians or none of them are. It just depends on if you ask them about themselves or others.

10/28/2010 9:56:12 AM

Maybe they're not using birth control, you insensitive, small-minded fuck.

Well, my grandparents have been married for over 65 years, but they've only had three kids, so I guess they don't count.

@ chaosof99: Jesus was Jewish, not Christian, so it doesn't count.

Once again proving that Christianity doesn't give people morals. It just gives people a convenient excuse to impose their morals on everybody else even when there's no logical reason to do so, and to keep doing things they already wanted to do. If "Real Christians" weren't Christian, they'd still rant about couples who don't have children, or homosexuality, or evolution. They might do it more quietly, though.

Well, i am pretty sure that there's about ten to twelve thousand people who would fit in in your idea of a "True christian." At most.

Headache told it like it is, and didn't apologise for it. If fundies were consistently treated this way there would be less of this
