Quote# 77407

The word sea (bahr) is used 32 times in the Quran. The word bahr is used both for the sea and other waters like lakes and rivers. The word land (berr, yabas) is used 13 times. If we calculate the ratio of 32 to 45 the result is 71.111%.

You may look up in any encyclopedia in the world and see that the lands cover 29% of the earth whereas the seas cover 71% of it. It is really an interesting miracle that scientific and the Quranic ratios of the lands to the seas are exactly the same. This knowledge which was not available in Muhammad’s time is coded in the Quran with concordance of words. People who will outgrow their stubbornness will see that this is an easy to understand and impossible to imitate miracle.

Nothing say science like numerology in the hands of religion.

I wonder what truths could be discovered if an atheist used his methods on his holy book?

I see you've used the word 'the' 16 times.
This is 3 more times than the word land is used; and also being half of the amount of times sea is used I can calculate that you are talking absolute bullshit.

Well that's it, then.

I'm convinced.

With stupidity that apparent and gullibility that rampant, it's no wonder you've chosen to represent yourself as Anonymous.

Problem is, rivers and lakes are not the same size as a "sea or Ocean". Since the poster said that (bahr) includes lakes and rivers, even the numerology math does not work

Funny how we never find these nuggets of knowledge in the koran until the infidels discover them by investigating the real world.

Phew, I'm glad Gabriel didn't stutter or constantly repeat himself when he related the Quran to Muhammed, otherwise we'd have had the wrong ratios.

You're really, really reaching for evidence, aren't you?

The Bible says that Satan appears as an "angel of light" (ironically, exactly what both Muhammad and Joseph Smith received their revelation from - an angel of light) and can perform miracles to lead people astray. The antichrist and false prophet will be the greatest miracle workers of all time - so much so that people will worship them as God. It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that the devil put some remarkable features into the Quarn to make it a more believable hoax and convince followers of CHrist to abandon their faith and follow him instead.

HUH?!

So because the book used the word for a body of water a lot means that it was saying how much of the planet is covered by water?

o_O Did someone forget to take their meds this morning?

We should forward them some of the bible code prophecies!

Oooh, or Nostradamus. He's good too.

And here I thought numerology was a grievous sin to your way of (non)thinking.

Funny how science matters to these nut jobs when they think it supports their lunacy. yet this same guy will also believe that the earth doesnt move.

Okay, I'll let you have your "miracle" for the moment, but guess what...?

MIRACLES =/= PROOF OF DIVINITY.

All they prove is that something causes miracles. They do not prove that whatever caused the miracle also created the universe and is in control of your fate after you die.

And?

I do believe you've forgotten to make a fucking point.

"You may look up in any encyclopedia in the world and see that the lands cover 29% of the earth whereas the seas cover 71% of it."

Unfortunately this is exactly where I thought you were going with that idiocy.

"It is really an interesting miracle that scientific and the Quranic ratios of the lands to the seas are exactly the same."

Yeah. Astounding. Now compare the ratio of "night" or "dark" with that of "day" or "light" and see if you get some number that you can twist around to show that it's somehow meaningful. Better yet, maybe you and that Bible Code twit can get together and create some sort of Grand Unified Theory of Stupid Shit that will prove both of your books are correct--even where they contradict one another and reality.

"This knowledge which was not available in Muhammad’s time is coded in the Quran with concordance of words."

First of all, as I often like to point out, correlation does not equal causation. Just because you found such a thing does not mean that it was put there purposefully by someone who had such knowledge.

Second, a single example of such a thing is not statistically significant. How about you give me a list of 100 such correlations between the ratio of two antonyms and actual scientific data? Then I might be a bit more inclined to not think you're a raving lunatic.

"People who will outgrow their stubbornness will see that this is an easy to understand and impossible to imitate miracle."

I'm pretty sure that's what they said about the Bible Code.

Blast it! That damn His4Life (see comment #1226128) is turning true atheists away from the path of reason and into the black pit of fundamental cultism, curse him! Is this just because of his beguiling prose or does his fervent spirituality beckon as does a flame to a moth? OK His4Life, I concede defeat, your lifestyle choices are the more enticing, to a gullible and stupid moron like you, that is.

You've used the word "outgrow" once. You're one stupid nutjob. The ratio is one to one. IT'S A MIRACLE!

@his4life:

The bible has been proven false by the koran. And the koran has never been proven wrong in all of history.

That seems just as messed up as Bible code. Apparently it never actually says in the Quran that water makes over 71% of the world. You have to get there by coming up with an obscure calculation. People can take calculations and codes out of anything and make them say anything.

Confirmation Bias. This yo-yo already knew the planet's ocean-to-land ratio before he performed his bullshit numerological calculation.

This guy needs to show us calculations based on Qu'ranic word counts that successfully predict facts that can be verified afterwards.
