(On the topic of Psychology being the Doctrine of Devils)

Rather then sitting down and talking to a person we don't know.. telling them all our problems.. wouldn't it be better to speak and pray to Jesus. He is the One we are to put our Trust in. He is the One that directs our paths in this life.. He knows that we are going through this trial and He is the One we should be talking to.. not a stranger.. that could care less about our problems.. Jesus is the only One that can help us through our trials and tribulations..

So, uh...Marianne, are you implying that I'm possessed by demons? Well prayer may provide comfort & holistic support but I'll stick to my Prozac & psych care, thank you very much.
Frankly, I think you're nuttier than I am, ma'am. Doctors work, try it sometime.

I personally know a Catholic priest who needed psychological counseling after serving as a chaplain in Iraq. I guess Jesus wasn't that good a psychologist.

I am only an anecdote. I can offer you no new information. Have you tried fortune cookies?

To be fair, a psychologist can't prescribe medicine either.

How come fundies never moved beyond the 50's Freudian version of psychiatry?

Because some people that do need help are not mentally fit, and in their minds, if they can hear what they consider a voice from their own mind to go kill people, what do you think the outcome will be?
I'll tell you from past experiences in the world. another guy killing someone shouting about Jesus telling him to while all the christian yammers like you start shouting "not a true Christian"

Yes, because you should ignore professional helpd from humans when it comes to mental diseases, and you should seek the help of your imaginary friend instead.

If this doesnt SCREAM "DELUSIONAL" to more than just myself, then apparently Im the one who is delusional.

He doesn't answer anyone, ever.

We are the only ones who can help one other.

Stop praying to an imaginary god who sacrifices himself to himself to create a loophole for stupid rules he made.

Psychologists and psychiatrists answer when asked and give good advice and have tons of information. Jesus does not always answer.

I talk to Jesus all the time. Usually in the sandbox. He tells me to burn things.

But, Jesus won't ask me how that makes me feel.

Sorry. Not inclusive enough.
Most psychologists would listen to people from any creed.

So, talking to an imaginary dead guy is better than talking to a living breathing person who can answer your questions?

I suppose it's cheaper...at first. Then suddenly you've given all your money to building some new contraption to assist Jesus in descending to earth faster or something, and the guy in charge has run off with 90% of the funds and your wife.

Speaking on behalf of my profession, we would actually encourage the patient to pray if it makes them feel better. We would also encourage the patient to talk about their problems and, if they wish to approach them from a Christian viewpoint, that would be fine.

Also, modern drug therapies can work wonders for certain mental illnesses. Jesus doesn't have a prescription pad. In fairness, nor do I but I can actually make recommendations to your doctor and he can write you a scrip.

Jesus is a myth for the dismally, pathetically, worthlessly stupid.

That's you, cunt.
