Katanas - especially the antiques - have their own problems. You will never see a warrior with katana blocking an attack as you would do with European sword - katanas are way too fragile for that.<<
Not quite - you can block _with the dull side of the blade_. The brittle steel of the cutting edge does have a tendency to shatter.
>>For that matter, Japanese never had to deal with European-style armor.<<
That is the main difference.
But I doubt that TCH understands this history, given that the power of projectile weapons seems to elude him. Even a longbow will nicely drop a knight. A modern semiautomatic is overkill."
Thus my wish for THC to use a Katana. Just like Tom Cruise Control in the film "The Last Samurai".

And never was a point so visually - and humourously - demonstrated. I remember when I first saw "Raiders of the Lost Ark" at the cinema, when that scene happened, the whole audience nearly wet themselves laughing - me included! So go ahead, THC:
"I will have both the Rosary AND the the steel blade of a broad sword."
Or a Claymore. Or a Sabre. Or a Katana. Or even a Scimitar. Do. Your. Worst.
PROTIP: Here's what to expect, should you care to visit railway stations such as Kings Cross, Victoria, or in this case, Waterloo (especially after 7/7), here in the UK:

The British Transport Police at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, John Lennon Airport etc wield Steyr AUGs.
