Your entire political system condones is based on greed, gluttony, pride and envy. Do you condone greed, gluttony, pride and envy ? If you think that your belief system should be made into law, why aren't you striving against all those "sinful behaviors" that are condoned, protected, sometimes even mandated by the law ? Why, why are you a goddamned conservative ?

Marriage is under attack. Stop divorces!

Every time I read this kind of drivel, I imagine it to be read in a Dalek's voice. Coincidence? Somehow I don't think so.

Big trouble in little Maryland.

When the Government embraces homosexuality, it forces us to do so as well.

Just like by allowing all seven deadly sins, adultery, divorce, blasphemy, working on the Sabbath, equal rights, witches to live, drink alcohol, eat shellfish, lying, apostasy...

You see how you are more than slightly full of shit?

1/27/2011 5:18:15 AM

@1249333 : do Daleks count as Godwin ?

The Duke secretly disagrees with you!

Marriage IS under attack...

by Christian jackwagons trying to twist it into a religious ritual, when it is, and always has been, a CIVIL MATTER.

1/27/2011 5:51:24 AM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was marriage ever defined by law?

1/27/2011 5:52:17 AM

Never to destroy all flesh by a flood? Doesn't mean much once you realise that it might destroy all flesh by some other means. You have been duped by a conniving supernatural parasite. Lovely :-)

[Male and female created he them]
that sounds like Yoda

You guys are just so full of yourselves. If you are of the opinion that we are going to hell then leave us be.

You guys don't adhere to the simplest, most primitive moral code there is: do unto others as you would like them to do unto you, something you should have learned as a child growing up.

Stop persecuting others in the name of your dear parasite. IT FUCKS PEOPLE OFF!

1/27/2011 5:52:57 AM

Male and Female he created them? So? Also Left-handed and Right-handed he created them. What’s the implication supposed to be there?

Aw, man. My state's on the wrong side of that spectrum. Towards the middle, but still on the wrong side.

Hey, it's nice to see that for once the deep south is actually somewhat less bigoted than other parts of the country. Maybe there's hope for us yet.

1/27/2011 6:17:35 AM

"Marriage is under attack. Only you can save it."

... So you're acknowledging, then, that your imaginary deity is powerless?

1/27/2011 6:43:53 AM

Azathoth's Puppy

That's one ugly map.

If your God exists as you say he does, it becomes our job to be defiant towards him, anyway. No god worth worshiping is like the jackass you make him out to be.

Hell is for people like us, who don't want to be tormented for an eternity in heaven by being forced to stay with people like you.

Hopefully, my home state (Maryland) will be the deepest shade of purple within a year. As it is, I'm proud of our True Blue status.

Zeus Almighty

"Male and female created he them"

Um, yeah, good thing man invented grammar.

1/27/2011 6:51:48 AM

For the last time, you guys don't fucking own marriage!

Also, anyone else a little surprise by Iowa?

1/27/2011 6:52:13 AM

Mister Spak

Funny how the divorce rate is lower in the so-called most defiant states.

Marriage is under attack? Since when?! Even in "godless" Massachusetts, straight people can get married in Christian ceremonies without hassle.

When our State acts, it acts in our name: Any sins it condones are sins WE condone. When Government embraces homosexuality, it FORCES us to do so as well.

Basic misunderstanding of the democratic process right here. You can still be straight; you just can't deny gay people their rights. Besides, I can imagine that fifty years ago someone was using this faulty argument in favor of institutionalized racism. Anti-discrimination measures are good, and it's only bigots who oppose them.

Anyway, I'm quite glad that my state is in the "second-most-progressive" category. Thus, I can say with certainty that the states which allow gay marriage (or are close to allowing gay marriage) have not restricted the rights of straight people to marry other straight people. All that is going on is that gay people are allowed to marry who they want, just like straights are.

1/27/2011 7:06:39 AM

Fuck off. You have no business running other people's lives especially not what they do in their own bedrooms.

1/27/2011 7:09:22 AM

In a democracy it is possible for the majority to vote to deny rights to a minority. That is why our country is not a pure democracy but has a series of checks and balances to provide, as much as possible, equal rights to all. Is it perfect? No. Nor has anybody claimed that it is.

1/27/2011 7:13:42 AM

TB Tabby

@TGRWulf: Nope. Gay marriage is legal in Iowa, remember?

1/27/2011 7:14:46 AM

For heaven's sake America, do something about these idiots. We are steadily getting the impression that all of you over there are in urgent need of psychiatric attention or euthanasia.

Please do something to prove that thesis is wrong.
