Backronym of the Year

Quote# 79115

Black holes are weird because they are make belief science fiction. Better know as "Fairie Dust" [Fabricated Ad hoc Inventions Repeatedly Invoked in Efforts to Defend Untenable Scientific Theories].

More Fairie Dust - Dark Energy and Dark Matter.

More fairy dust - The body of a man being a cracker.

Black holes can be indirectly observed by way of the objects around them you dunce.

Fundietard says "Me don't unnerstand, so can't be true," part 3,427.

I have to say I'm impressed, what with your doctorates in Biology, theoretical physics and astronomy that you must have to feel qualified to comment on such subjects.

That is assuming you're not just talking out of your anus....

Azathoth's Puppy

"Ad hoc" is two separate words, not the same word.

Doctor Whom

You fail physics forever, so you resort to snarking. Bummer that you fail snarking forever, too.

read a science book moron

The "Big Bang" was originally an insult to the theory. Big Bang was later adopted by the cosmologists as a great name. "Fairie Dust" is a creative and interesting name for dark matter and energy. Who knows where this will lead?

On the other hand, when Einstein's Theory of Relativity predicted the existence of black holes, many thought it was indeed science fiction. Then astronomers observed the evidence for black holes...

Maybe Doveaman thinks the last word in astronomy and cosmology was geocentrism.

Gimpo Pop Eyes

This proves that Fundie God is a Muppet God of morons. You can tell by the clueless babbling of the fundie numpties that their God likes to keep them down to His level of dumbosity. That's why they don't like atheists and scientists, because they hate it that cleverer people exist than their God. Mind you, that's not difficult, as their God is a complete and utter retard.

If you put all the energy from that comment into reading about the science, you'd be twice as smart by now.

1/30/2011 4:26:26 PM

Make believe because you say so? I'm sorry, but that just doesn't cut it.

1/30/2011 4:26:37 PM

Christians are weird because their bible is make believe science fiction. better known as Bullshit In bound leather edition.

Other news, here is a picture of a REAL black hole.,r:7,s:83&biw=1174&bih=477

Doveaman's brain got sucked into a black hole.

1/30/2011 4:31:41 PM

so pretty much you cant comprehend it?
that makes it fake.

1/30/2011 4:49:11 PM

Oh I like the idea of calling Dark Matter and Energy "Fairie Dust" (keeping the "ie" misspelling); somehow it just fits.

I get the feeling Doveaman wonders how you get all those tiny people into the television set.

1/30/2011 5:23:33 PM

How do they stay this fucking stupid?

1/30/2011 5:39:04 PM

The lord invented URL shorteners for a reason. I suggest you use one next time instead of messing up the page for everyone.

1/30/2011 5:57:41 PM

You misspelled "fairy".

(Doveaman: But, but, my mommy says it's really funny!)

1/30/2011 6:12:18 PM

Alencon: Not quite a misspelling. "Fairy" and "faerie" are both legitimate, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point so was "fairie".

Anyway, dark matter is more like i (as in the square root of -1) than anything else. It's currently a shortcut that bridges other phenomena. The whole reason it's called dark is because we're "in the dark" as to its essence. That does not mean we can never hope to understand its essence, just that we haven't pierced that far yet.

You DO realize that if black holes didn't exist, our galaxy couldn't either right? The Milky Way spins AROUND a super massive black hole numbnutz.

1/30/2011 6:30:12 PM

I think it's interesting that you're talking about fairies when your God is about as real as one.

1/30/2011 6:48:25 PM

That's sad to see a "X of the year award" just before February.

1/30/2011 7:40:23 PM

One would think they'd be happy about Black Holes, Dark Energy, Dark Matter. They could say their deity created it and use it as evidence of his great majesty. Instead they insist on making him as minute as possible, while saying how grand he is.

"Epic fail" ;-)
