As other posters have suggested, the level of your apparent education leads one to the inescapable conclusion that your "work" in the state mental hospital was either janitorial, or of a "trustee" nature.
Not to mention, in the interim we have come to realize that alternative sexual preferences are not necessarily symptomatic of clinical insanity.
Now if we could just get the establishment to realize the fundamentalism IS a symptom of insanity...

I wouldn't be surprised if a high number of homosexual people turned out to develop mental issues. This however, has less to do a product of being gay and more do with a product of being gay in a society that says you're a sinful abomination and everyone hates you.
So basically if society accepted homosexual behavior, they would lead better lives.

And before that we used to put Japanese-Americans inside internment camps, and before that we classified black people as 3/5 of a person, and before that we had witch trials. Just because things were done differently back in the "good ol' days" doesn't mean that they were right in fact, as science marches on we tend to gain a better insight into the way the world works and right now no credible psychologist would EVER declare homosexuality to be a mental disorder any more than a credible physician would prescribe an exorcism or leeches.
