Quote# 79530

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon poses here with the newborn baby of her lover, Christine Marinoni. The Daily Mail refers to the baby, who was born last week, as the couple’s son, expecting readers to swallow nonsense whole and slide down the rabbit hole of artificially-created insanity without raising the slightest objection or cry for help.

Nixon, who plays an emotionally sterile wife in the Sex and the City movie, says, “I’m just a woman in love with another woman.”

Despite her madonna-like pose in this photograph, Nixon is a typical anti-mother of our times, a person who has violated the most basic terms of motherhood.

Homosexual “parents” are similar to the Baba Yagas of ancient fairy tales who stalked children in the woods. They may not have pointy noses or broomsticks. They may not live in tiny cabins surrounded by fences made of human bones. But they are just as hostile to the young, snatching away their innocence and security, stealing them from their tiny cradles. Deliberately to deprive a child of a father, to arrange his conception the way one might arrange a major purchase, to raise him in a home without a man, cut off from half his kin and exposed to the shame of having two “mothers,” is nothing less than child abuse.

What has happened to the hearts of lesbians? They are shriveled and turned to stone.

Two mothers and no father is better than one mother and no father.

I bet Ms Nixon and Ms Marinoni both have male friends, who can teach the child about male role-models.

Despite her madonna-like pose in this photograph, Nixon is a typical anti-mother of our times...

If she's having children, then how is she an "anti-mother".

But they are just as hostile to the young, snatching away their innocence and security, stealing them from their tiny cradles.

You're confusing gay's with catholics.

Deliberately to deprive a child of a father, to arrange his conception the way one might arrange a major purchase, to raise him in a home without a man, cut off from half his kin and exposed to the shame of having two “mothers,” is nothing less than child abuse.

Does the same go for divorced parents, widowed parents, and other single parents.

Fundies Make Me Sick

Just because you don't like the idea of two women raising a child, that doesn't mean that two women (or two men for that matter) can't raise an intelligent, compassionate, well-adjusted human being who becomes a productive member of society.

Now, while not having a father can have detrimental effects on a child's psychological health (just as not having a mother can), as long as the child is exposed to a good male role-model and is raised with love, it'll turn out fine.

Also, unless you can prove that lesbians are inherently hostile to children, STFU.

You are nothing but a heartless bigot to want to deny a child a loving home just because you disapprove of the gender of the parents. I hope you never have children (or if you already do, that they never inherent your hateful attitude). Shame on you.

Language Police, Clumsy Rhetoric Unit, good afternoon. It seems we have a reason to suspect that you've engaged in some rather excessive Jumping to Conclusions here. Let's see what we have here - hmm, copious mudslinging here, and what have we here - oh...

> What has happened to the hearts of lesbians? They are shriveled and turned to stone.

... oh my, a mudslinging attempt that was disguised as an attempt to analyse the situation, when it was plain and obvious that no analysis whatsoever was performed! According to the International Debate Law, you need to have a Royal Asshole Permit to carry concealed mudslinging weapons. Let's see some permits, ma'am? ...No, I'm not having any of those complaints, lady; we already made Regular Assholery permit-free back in 1935, and we don't really mind plain ol' flaming these days, as long as everyone can see you're a raging moron. But colossal stumbles like these... no, you've got to have a permit for these.

What about the all the fundamentalist Christians who get divorced and raise a child "in a home without a man, cut off from half his kin" and "deliberately ... deprive a child of a father"? Fundamentalist Christians have one of the highest divorce rates of any religious group - almost twice the rate for atheists, for example.

And the "shame" of having two mothers is your own bigoted fault, not the child's.

Does she realize that the "Baba Yagas" she refers to are the same creatures dreamed up by early Christians, that Jews would steal their children, eat them and drink their blood, thus justifying violence against them?
The ironic thing is she is using that same myth to justify action against the gay community. We see some things never change.

I see a baby with two parents who love him, and want nothing but the best for him. I see a couple in love, who want to share their joy with the world.

If anyone's heart is shriveled and turned to stone, it's yours, Laura.

Oh yeah? From my vast knowledge of lesbianism (thankyou web porn), two large breasted blondes constantly fingerbangin each other night after night while i watch from the bed end ... fuck, they are neither blonde or, strictly speaking, women...

Can't say that I've ever met someone who felt ashamed to have two moms, Laura, but I have to agree that some parents can be a real embarrassment for their kids. Imagine for example a poor kid with a screeching asshole for a mother... Who knows, you may know such a kid, maybe even without realizing it.

@The Lazy One:
"Do you even know the story of Baba Yaga? She doesn't "snatch away innocence," she fucking EATS you. And she doesn't have broomstick, she has a house that walks on chicken legs. Seriously, actually read the stories you reference before you try to moralize based on them."

Actually Baba Yaga does carry a broom around, but she doesn't ride it, her main mode of transportation is her flying mortar. She uses the broom to sweep away her tracks.

As a bloke, I have found some lesbians abrasive, but that's abnormal. On the whole I find them to be bloody good candidates for parenthood.

I am impressed that you have even heard of Baba Yaga. Most Americans, it seems, know very little about the folklore of foreign countries. Heck, many seem to think that they actually resemble the Disney movies.

The rest of your post, however, clearly illustrates that having a store of information does not qualify you as a "thinking" housewife.
