Actually there were same-sex marriages in China during the Ming and Zhou dynasties, probably other dynasties too. Also in Rome, before the Christians took over. Well, if we are to be picky and precise about this, then technically speaking there is nothing natural about marriage. In fact, as far as gene pool diversity is concerned, marriage is not a good thing to happen. Is it a "natural order" any more if you have to defend it? If you want "natural order", wouldn't you just let things happen? If you want "natural" food, why not drink frog poison?

A free hint: There's no mysteriously superior "natural order" - there's just the status quo, and you have to always evaluate whether it's a good state of things or a bad state of things.

Around here, last year, a giant bunch of people get out of the church because one politician said homosexuality is unnatural and sick - all the while the church has no official view on the matter and the civil marriages are already allowed. So I'd say the society here permits stuff and can, rightfully, tell the church to get on with the more sensible times.

I don't know, the ancient Greeks were pretty lenient toward homosexuality. I don't know for a fact they allowed actual gay marriage, but they didn't seem to care much about gay relationships.

Ever think there isn't a cure? And don't give me that crap about "ex-gays." People who claim to be ex-gay are just suppressing their natural sexual desires.
