Quote# 79643

I heard a message preached once about Democracy. Democracy is praised as this great system, but it is NOT. Democracy allows power to be given to flawed men and is certainly not based on anything in scripture.

I for one am glad I live in a kingdom, with a wonderful King as my Lord and Savior who provides for my needs.

jral, to whom do you pay your taxes? That is where you live. I suggest you re read what jesus said - 'My kingdom is not of this world'. So you have a choice live in your present country, or go an join Jesus.

BTW, where is the evidence for Jesus? The Bible doesn't count.

Your kingdom has a rule though, that amounts to 'do what I say or suffer eternally.' I'll stick with democracy, thanks.

Democracy ain't perfect, that's for sure but it's better than every other alternative.

I for one am glad I live in a kingdom, with a wonderful King as my Lord and Savior who provides for my needs

Then what the fuck are you doing here? I thought your lot was against illegal immigrants being in the country, "sucking up our resources".

Wait. Did a Raptard just outright admit that they live in a magical lala-land wholly removed from reality?

I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to be that honest.

Yeah, good luck with that fairy tale kingdom. But if that's the way you feel, I honestly hope you don't vote in elections in the real world.

Democracy is a white man with a bible in one hand, a gun in the other hand, and a sense of entitlement.

That said, jra166 is fucking nuts

A sort of theocratic monarchy? The thing is, ANY system will give power to flawed men. In a theocratic system, flawed men have all the power and enforce the rules written down by other men (the holy text). An invisible entity whose existence can be seriously questioned cannot be in charge of a country, so it would be "flawed men" who would ACTUALLY be in charge in a theocracy. It would be, in practise, a backward, patriarchal, intolerant tyranny.

You said it, I didn't.

"I for one am glad I live in a kingdom, with a wonderful King as my Lord and Savior who provides for my needs."

As Professors of Theology will tell you, the Hebrew 'Elohim' (as Jews refer to him), your Judeo-Christian God, and Islam's Allah, are all one and the same.

When you're boarding that Saudia flight to Riyadh (capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ruled by King Abdullah), I'll wave you goodbye. OR:

You once had the God Emperor of Fucking Up, George Dumbya Bush. Whose wise and prudent fiscal policies resulted in the unholy mess (which Obama has the unenviable task of cleaning up); from a balanced budget (for the first time) with a trade surplus he'd inherited from Clinton, he spunked away trillions, resulting in a Great Depression-esque economy. Who did he borrow $1.5-2 billion a day from, just to prop up said economy, and said lenders who also bought up the US's debts? Say hello to your new landlord, Ruptured Retards:

I for one welcome our new Chinese overlords, with a wonderful General Secretary who provides for your needs. Better start learning Mandarin. And Atheism, Ruptured Retards.

Where is your God now?

Yes! Even though I live in the United States, where Obama is president, in my heart I am only ruled by Havelock Vetinari.

See? I can be delusional and discount real governments/rulers in favor of fictional ones from fantasy books, too! Such fun!

In a democracy political office and power is generally awarded to those who merit it. It is pretty hard to rise to the top of 300 million people if you are a fool.

A Kingdom on the other hand awards power to people based on who their parents were. This has led to some laughably bad leaders throughout history, and also some shockingly horrific people.

God is a bloodthirsty despot.
Jesus a socialistic hippie.

They are one and the same, AND worth following?

I think not.

Regardless of which country this guy's from, he's referring directly to Jesus as his actual ruler, which makes him completely delusional. He also fails political science forever. Democracy isn't perfect, but it's the best we have. Every single absolute monarchy in the world was and is an oppressive dictatorship. The only kingdoms which have any kind of civil rights record are constitutional monarchies, and if the European monarchies had given up their power all the way back in the revolutions of 1848 instead of demonizing democracy, we probably would never have had fascism, communism, and a difference between developed and developing countries today. Monarchists have a lot of blood on their hands.

@ Anon-e-moose:
Where did you get that propaganda poster from? It's either communist or bizarre. Or both.

Gotta love it. In light of the other fundies who claim that Jebusism had nothing at all to do with oppressive monarchies and had everything to do with the birth of democracy (as formerly practiced in Ancient Greece and Rome...).

Yeah. Right.
