So, you want your children ignorant and uneducated. Don't come whining to me when your child can't do basic maths without fucking it up.

And then, fifteen years down the line, these same people will be complaining about liberals controlling the banks, industries, the officer commissions in both the military and the police forces, and every government position mandating a highern education.

You have some odd conceptions about the effect of public schools. I've been in public schools all my life. It has not bred any love for the state, I can tell you that much.

Just once I'd like you idiots to give one example of anyone worshipping the educational system.
Having faith in it is not worship, it's trusting it to educate which is it's only purpose. If the schools are Godless (they should be even more Godless than they are) then worship is simply impossible.
Ever see anyone pray to their school or teachers? No, pray for maybe but then we're right back to you God-worshippers.

The richest, smartest, most powerful people in history have generally sought a liberal (meaning extensive, varied, and broad) education for their children. It turns out that the most successful people are those who learn about a great many things; including things that they or their parents may not believe.
There are two kinds of people who denigrate public schools. Those who think they don't teach enough and those who are afraid they teach too much.

"if they hope to overcome communism"
Excuse me? Are you still fighting the cold war? I thought y'all declared that saint Ronnie Raygun defeated communism back in '89 or '90.
As for schools, they are absolutely full of evil liberals. You should keep your kids out. (My kids will need someone to cook their fries.)

"...overcome communism and fascist islam,"
Communism? In the U.S? What a boogey-man.
"...a conservative Judeo-Christian based education."
These fundies always connect Judaism and Christianity because they see them as the "good guys", and leave out Islam as the third leg of the Abrahamic religion family. And what they don't realise is that in advocating religious indoctrination over a proper secular education, they're acting almost exactly like the Islamists they claim to be superior to.

Every child DOES have access to a conservative Judeo-Christian education. There are many Catholic and Christian and Jewish private schools. If there are none in your area, many still take boarders. Can't afford it? You can homeschool. You don't even have to teach the kids yourself! You can leave them at home and use one of the many online schools.
Oh, wait. This isn't about your kids. This is about you indoctrinating everyone else's kids. My mistake.

???? I must have missed where they made it illegal to teach your kids about religion at home or in church. If you want your kids to be religious, you MUST MUST MUST teach them yourselves.

Typical conservative mindset-- brainwash children to your centuries-out-of-date viewpoint, and do not even let them know about other, more reasonable points of view. It says a lot that this guy thinks that education is "godless state worship". Public schools have nothing to do with religion-- it is neither bashed nor supported there. Wintertime was obviously homeschooled "homskuuld" if he doesn't know this. Quotes like this are why I will be wary for as long as there are neocons and Tea Partiers in high positions in the government.

We MUST MUST MUST work to see that every child has access to a conservative Judeo-Christian based education.
"Work" is right. Send your kids to any Christian fundamentalist school you like, have them taught your religious beliefs, and pay for it yourself. Just don't expect people of other religions to pay to have their kids taught your religion.

Except it's not your decision where others send their children to go to school or what values they're taught.

how can a building be a temple if it's 'godless'? the lack of a god being worshipped automatically disqualifies a building from being a 'temple'. XD

"We MUST MUST MUST work to see that every child has access to a conservative Judeo-Christian based education"
in other words, you must must must work to force every child to be taught a narrow and hateful view of politics and religion regardless of what their political and religious stand is, and against their parents wishes?
I thought you right wingers were all about parental choice on matters of politics and religion in school?
Calling them godless temples is actually a comment for atheists in America.

Sooner or later, we'll need a new generation of fuel jockeys, though hold off on teaching them how to handle gasoline alongside Jesus just yet; We're still not quite sure what will power our vehicles in the next half-century or so. Shut down schools? Not on my watch. In the unlikely event that I miraculously end up cured of The Gay, any child of mine will need at least a rudimentary understanding of physics to go enjoy RC flight, rocketry, sports, and... well, anything that moves.
Even in non-intellectual pursuits like sports, secular science is king. How else do you throw a curveball without mister Bernoulli's influence. How about archery without understanding Newton? Or gliding without Coanda and Coriolis, or Pascal?
Education now and forevermore, serves as the key to power, enlightenment and progress. It's delightful that you fundamentalists will willingly throw away such a potent utility; I may yet see a future increasingly free of you idiots in office.
