Quote# 79982

Just had dinner with some Hollywood insiders.

JOE McCARTHY WAS RIGHT!

It's worse than you think. These bastards are in a FRENZY to solidify the "fundamental transformation" of America. They're going to do and say anything they can to prop up Obama and the communists, the Islamists, Eco-Nazis and anyone else that is working to destroy us.

They know there is a shift in attitude among Americans...which is why the new Atlas Shrugged movie is being ignored. Theatre owners are being pressured not to show it. No distributor will touch it. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO SEE IT!

There will be bad press, terrible reviews and LOTS OF MOVIES SUDDENLY COMING OUT that have the opposite message (capitalism is evil and you are bad).

From what I'm told, there is at once a feeling of haughty superiority over the "gun toting, bible clinging, unsophisticated" hicks AND a terrible fear that they might start to wake up and flex their considerable muscle.

DO NOT patronize anything "Hollywood". Shun those stupid films and TV shows, stop paying to see tart-lets and moron actors, stop buying the crap they're handing us. We don't need censorship, just market pressure. If we don't buy, they go away. (Of course, they might get a gov't bail out, but...)

They are worthless at best, subversive at worst.

JOE McCARTHY WAS RIGHT (and I'm serious...that's from an insider who was there. Almost all of those accused of being communists WERE communists. Gee, isn't it strange that the message sent out by Hollywood was all about big, bad "Joe" and the "black list" and "witch hunts"...and now we have open communists in the media and even in the White House.)

Working the counter of one's local Blockbuster does not qualify one as a "Hollywood Insider".

Who are you, Wyatt's Torch, to dislike communism?

I find it quite funny that you think you can affect the income of Hollywood.

Here's a synopsis, which will explain why nobody wants to see this dud.
"Dagny Taggart runs Taggart Transcontinental, the largest remaining railroad company in America, with intelligence, courage and integrity, despite the systematic disappearance of her best and most competent workers. She is drawn to industrialist Henry Rearden, one of the few men whose genius and commitment to his own ideas match her own. Rearden's super-strength metal alloy, Rearden Metal, holds the promise that innovation can overcome the slide into anarchy. Using the untested Rearden Metal, they rebuild the critical Taggart rail line in Colorado and pave the way for oil titan Ellis Wyatt (Graham Beckel) to feed the flame of a new American Renaissance. Hope rises again, when Dagny and Rearden discover the design of a revolutionary motor based on static electricity - in an abandoned engine factory - more proof to the sinister theory that the "men of the mind" (thinkers, industrialists, scientists, artists, and other innovators) are "on strike" and vanishing from society."

As you can see, it's about 19th century technology. The key role of the railroad is amusing, considering the ongoing Republican war against Amtrak and the refusal to build high-speed rail lines.

Ayn Rand was a cunt.
Joe McCarthy was a cunt.
Atlas Shrugged is boring.
Who gives a fuck about communists.
I think you need to drink a few more bottles of moonshine; perhaps you'll go blind and begin to find typing a chore :-D

OK, assuming this "insider" really does exist and every person accused of being a communist really was a communist...

...so what? I mean, after all, this is America where people have the right to believe in communism as a viable economic model if they want to. We haven't yet evolved into a police state where thought crime is punished, but I have a feeling that Wyatt's Torch and his fellow moonbats would love that kind of totalitarian government (as long as they were in charge, of course).

Uh, Wyatt, just because the guy in the next back-alley theater wank-booth was inside you last night, that doesn't make him a "Hollywood insider."

If so, why didn't they find ANY solid evidence?. Why did MacArthy become an alcoholic idiot if he was so sure of himself?

Tart-lets?

It's always that elusive, anonymous "insider" who has the hard evidence of any conspiracy theory. They're privy to secrets so tightly kept that no evidence of the conspiracy exists, yet they're willing to spill the beans to any nutjob on the internet.

Look, the entertainment industry is not the CIA. If someone were a communist, I'm sure others would have known it. But even if there were communists in Hollywood, our country still outlasted the USSR. They didn't seem to be that effective. And I'm sure our country will survive the "communists" in the media and in the White House.

Come on, being afraid of commies is so 1950's. Today we're supposed to be afraid of Muslim terrorists.

Just had dinner with some Hollywood insiders.

Oh, you lying cunt. And yeah, there really were Communists working to destroy America in the 1950s, and Joe McCarthy and his goons didn't uncover a single fucking one of them. Earl Browder, leader of the CPUSA was brought up and accused of accepting Soviet money (which he was), but made complete monkeys out of the McCarthyites and walked away scot free.

And Atlas Shrugged is really fucking boring, which is why the film is going to be such a huge turkey. And, hey, Wyatt, Rand was an atheist Jew. Just so you know. Still like her?

Re: Nazani 14's comment
I see there's no mention whatsoever of John Galt & his merry gang of Randroids, who are deliberately accelerating the decline of the Workers State Of America, in order to pursue their "hidden agenda" of Objectivism in said synopsis except at the very end...

It has to be a conspiracy, doesn't it? It can't possibly be because the movie version of Atlas Shrugged sucks and blows as badly as the book did and has a very limited audience, can it?
You morons wouldn't know a communist if one came and bit your ass. Obama is slightly right of center to the rest of the planet. He's no communist, except to a retarded libertarian.
We've never had such a thing on this planet as a truly communist government. We've had a lot of totalitarian regimes playing lip service to communism. That is all.

McCarthy didn't really accuse anybody in particular, he just kept insisting he had a list of people in the government who were communists. Asked for specifics, he tried to come up with the name "Harold Shapley," who was an astronomy professor. But McCarthy didn't have the name right.
Then he attacked the army, which ate him for breakfast. Whereupon he went back to drinking himself to death.
And please, update your boogeyman.
