An imam of an east London mosque has been subject to death threats and intimidation for expressing his views on evolution and women's right to refuse the veil.

Dr Usama Hasan, vice-chairman at Leyton mosque and a senior lecturer in engineering at Middlesex University, ceased delivering Friday prayers after 25 years of service when 50 Muslim protesters disrupted his lecture by handing out leaflets against him and shouting in the mosque for his execution.

The pro-UK government (and thus pro-democracy) Muslim Council of Great Britain will soon put a stop to their activities.

They help the Home Office/Scotland Yard/MI6 with any & all relevant info re. Al-Qaeda activities.

They don't want to rock the boat, same as all good, decent law-abiding Muslims here in the UK.

Yes, that's the problem. The Government is, it seems, softer on Muslim criminals than criminals of other religions. I assume they don't want to be seen as intolerant, or because they fear that the entire local Muslim sub-community will kick off (wait, doesn't that make the Government intolerant, if they seemingly think that all Muslims are violent thugs?).

It's a case of - le sigh - political correctness, as cliched and trite as that phrase sounds. Yes, I am aware it makes me sound like a "Little Englander", but it's true to a degree.

Really, the Government has just been soft on criminals carte blanche since New Labour got in back in 1997.

I'm going to stop ranting now, unless I want to sound like "Tory Boy", but it does seem that way.

Just remember to take the stories you hear with a pinch of salt, and that the media has a tendency to exaggerate them. Especially if it's the Daily Mail we're talking about.
