Quote# 8018

['Catholic do not worship a sun god either.']

Not that you know of.
Ask any Islam/Muslim and he will deny the moon god.
Ask any mason or mormon and they will deny Lucifer.
You can't see the forest when you are trapped in the trees.

I was raised Catholic. Don't recall any sun-gods ... no, wait, we used to worship God on a Sunday, so that must mean ...

I was raised Catholic. No sun-gods for me even then.

It constantly amazes me that these fundies think they know more about Catholics than Catholics do.

So true, ironic that the same applies to him.

\"You can't see the forest when you are trapped in the trees.\"

Erm. Yes, you can...

Hey, Blizzarhunt, I heard that you worship Satan.

What's that, you deny it? Well, by your logic, your denial is all the evidence we need to demonstrate that you do, in fact, worship satan...

Salem Witch trials come to mind...

You guys really dropped the ball ont his one. Catholics do worship a sun god. It's called Jesus. See for example :

\"The writings of early Christians also verify that Christ was perceived by the Pagans as a typical sun god\"

\"The Jesus of the gospels was given the characteristics of a solar god.\"

There is a book on the topic called \"Jesus Christ, Sun of God\"

\"the Story of Jesus is an Astrological Allegory for the Sun passing through the Zodiac each year\"

And so on...

There were a number of Catholics called saints. They asked a lot of questions and had a lot of thoughts, some pushing the grain of the mainstream Christianity of their time.

Compared to the modern Christian apologetics, they're brilliant even if you can't agree with everything they say.

Compared to these geniuses on Rapture Ready, my house cat is brilliant. What's your point?

Has anyone noticed that these dipshits got in this muddlebrained condition by being too fixated on religion? And their parents probably told them that drugs would rot their brains! Right again, Karl!

...and ask any Christian and they will deny "evil-lution".

Sun Gods:

Ask any Christian and they will deny worshiping Zeus. This shows that they do worship Zeus.

Does this mean you will finally shut the fuck up?

So I could claim you worchip Dagon and when you deny it claim that you can't see the ocean when trapped under the water.

Or, you could claim they worship the FSM, and when they deny it, say they can't see the noodles, because they were trapped under a meatball.

In the documentary "Trekkies", it includes a Catholic priest in Italy who is a big fan of "Star Trek". He says that the complete philosophy of universality, tolerance & progress espoused in Gene Roddenberry's scenario, as well as 'I.D.I.C.': Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, is compatible with his own beliefs.

Catholic Bronies & Pegasisters.

The 'Aten'. Amaterasu. Diana. Artemis.

Better not tell Buzzardnuts about "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san" then. >:D

Some in the above linked Catholic MLP:FiM fans thread also like anime; no doubt they'll have heard of/seen this 'Moe'-ification of the Lovecraft Mythos.
