I don't know, I guess I would probably have sex with as many pretty women as possible and cheat on my taxes and few other things that I thought I could get away with without getting caught. I would also try to make as much money as possible by just about any means possible, ie using other people as stepping stones. And just live for immediate gratification.

That is, unless every atheist who is good is secretly a Christian, and every Christian who is bad is secretly an atheist. Now some people might say I'm changing the evidence to confirm my beliefs. But screw them, they are just working with the devil.

Most things that you have to worry about getting caught for doing in the first place are things that involve other people, or more specifically, infringe on other people. Tax fraud, for example. Stepping on other people, etc.

Those are the ones I consider immoral. Because it infringes on others in a negative way.

Ed, it's not that it's necessarily immoral, it's just that it's fuckin dumb. That's the only real problem - you're being a moron.

If the only reason that you're playing nice with the world is that you're afraid of going to hell ... then you really need to re-evaluate your life.

I do not believe in your god, your heaven, your hell, etc. I believe that, when I die, I'm going to be dead, and that's it. But you know, I don't have to believe that God's gonna kick my ass in order to convince me to be good to other people. I just treat people the way I'd expect I should be treated in similar circumstances. You know, I seem to get by just fine on that. No trouble with the law, no trouble with my girlfriend, no real trouble with much of anything at all.

And the best part ... I know that I'm gonna fuck up now and then, but I'm not living in fear of eternal damnation when I do. It's a very liberating experience.

No, I obey God because I love Him not because I am afraid of going to hell. But xminion, why is impacting people negatively immoral? People and animals get impacted negatively everyday, that is just a fact of life. Other than personal preferences there is no source of oughtness in regard to that (if there is no God). And YW why is suffering bad? Evolution produces great suffering everyday, that means it just IS. There is nothing that tells us we OUGHT not cause suffering other than people's preferences.
