Quote# 80485

I often wonder if Islam itself is the Antichrist. This argument suggests that those that practice it are antichrists ? This implies that an Antichrist is the POTUS.
90% of Americans could agree with this thinking yet the usual lunatics like harry Reid would be out there calling us megaextreme extremists.

Look, if an antichrist is a denier of Christ's divinity, then yes, you can have the entire Muslim world minus that one weird sect in Syria. Who might be extinct now, I can't remember. You can also have lots of other people, including Nestorian Christians.

If an antichrist is someone else who claims to be the Messiah instead, also a legitimate historical interpretation, then you have...Muhammad Mahdi, Sabbatai Sevi, and that woman who founded the Shakers, people like that.

If an antichrist is a demonic entity sent to end the world by setting off the final battle and leading the forces of Sheol...uh...Hellboy? Except he's also a superhero whose blood sprouts lilies and was recently declared king of England, not President of the U.S.

(It's funny because he considers himself American.)

You still don't get Obama, okay?

My two cents that this guy has no idea of the core doctrine of Islam. Otherwise, he would be surprised to find that Jesus is one of their highest prophets.

We know for a fact that Obama does not attend Mosque and does not pray five times a day. He eats pork and shellfish and drinks beer. We've seen him do it. Therefore, he clearly does not practice Islam, even if he is some sort of secret Muslim.

I often wonder if Islam itself is the Antichrist

Just another speculation in a long, long line of speculations. Islam joins such luminaries as the New Age movement, Ronald Wilson Reagan, hippes, Saddam Hussien, the EU, and pretty much every Soviet leader as the religious right's Antichrist du Jour.

This argument suggests that those that practice it are antichrists ?

That's not an argument, it you asserting somthing without even providing a scintilla of anything that so much as resembles actual evidence.

This implies that an Antichrist is the POTUS

It does nothing of the sort. You take it as a given the President Obama is a muslim, in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Obama himself says he is a christian, who are you to say otherwise? Do you make a habit of second guessing the sincerity of you fellow christians, or just just the black ones who happen to be liberals?

90% of Americans could agree with this thinking

But 90% of americans don't agree with that line if thinking, and any speculation on what Harry Reid would or would not do is both pointless and in your chacterization, facitious.

I thought the "anti-christ" was prophesied to be some political figure or something, not a group of people.
Sigh, whatever, just toss it on the pile with all the other bible contradictions.

Where are people even getting this stuff about Obama? They treat it as absolute fact, but as near as I can find out, he's the Christian son of an atheist. Is it because he's got a foreign-ish name?

To be completely fair to the guy, he's not saying that 90% of Americans think Obama's the Antichrist - he's saying that if 90% of them did, the "usual lunatics" would still be doing their thing.

Of course, that just means he's lying about the opposition rather than lying about the stats, so it's not really much of a point in his favor.
