Bluntly, Planned Parenthood lures your kids into sex outside of marriage without your knowledge or consent. And then, they get to kill your unborn grandchildren without notifying you.

Yes. Exactly. This is why, when I went to Planned Parenthood for an exam after moving to a new city, I was asked what my preferred options were if the pregnancy test was positive. When I said I intended to keep the baby, I was given information for prenatal care, names of local OB/Gyns, and loads of brochures. The word "abortion" never came up. Ever.
Oh, and when the test ultimately came back negative? I was given information on infertility specialists. Guess they were just eager for me to get knocked up so I could come back and abort it. On my second visit a few years later, when we'd decided we didn't actually want kids after all, I was able to get vasectomy information for my husband, plus LOADS of info on other birth control methods to use in the interim...no questions asked.
I've been to Planned Parenthood three times, and have never been asked about, offered, or pressured to have an abortion.
Fuck off.
Ken, tell me, why the fuck would PP be eager to get teens to get pregnant, then to abort the unborn? Do you think they blend the fetus and use it as a skin care cream? Dumbass!
And please explain why The Netherlands, which is one of the most liberal and open countries in the world regarding sex, where sex outside of marriage is totally normal: Why has this country both the lowest teenage pregnancy rates and the lowest abortion rates in the world? And why have other liberal european countries comparable numbers?
A liberal attitude towards sex, honest sex education in school, and widespread access to contraceptives for everybody has saved thousands more lifes than stubborn religious "true-love-can-wait-until-marriage" and "abortion-under-NO-circumstances" conservativism.
"Pro-Choicers" are also the real "Pro-Lifers". The numbers are clear without ambiguity. The so-called "Pro-Life" movement has failed spectacularly.
Wait, wait, wait... Ignoring the rest of the crazy in this sentence, are you saying that you're kids have to have your permission to have grandkids?
I present to you who the average fundie thinks is the average employee of Planned Parenthood.

Seriously, the only way this evil plot makes sense is just people doing something for the evulz.
Oh, a pro-liefer.
God knows someone has to be there for the teenagers who were only taught abstinence and lies. Providing contraception, information, and reproductive health services only counts as "luring" in the minds of deluded people.
Also I'm pretty sure parents aren't entitled to grandchildren. And any parent who wants to force an underage girl to go through a pregnancy is a terrible and disgusting failure. A girl or young woman doesn't need anyone's consent in that area.
It's hard to tell your parents you want birth control, and I think teenagers should have access to it without having to tell their parents. It would be even scarier for a girl facing an unwanted pregnancy with pro-life parents. Something as private as birth control and abortion should be confidential.
Yes, because adolescents need so much encouragement to do what their raging hormones are telling them to do.
It's a little-known fact that Planned Parenthood employees use time machines to create this trend of premarital sex before the organization even existed! Satan taught them how to build time machines out of two-stroke boat motors and moldy Wonder Bread. Their ultimate plan is to kill your grandfather so you'll never be born! MUHUHAHAHA!
Grow the fuck up, Ken. You don't have any "unborn grandchildren." Reality doesn't work that way.
Planned Parenthood is a great organization that's been demonized by right wing zealots and pro life fundies who need to keep the mistaken perception that PP is an abortion machine alive.
Why is it that those organizations who aim to provide resources to the weakest and most disadvantaged among us are always the biggest targets of the right? Is information their biggest enemy? Like that's a real question.
That doesn't even make any sense. So Planned Parenthood is going to waste their time and resources to make you pregnant and then they'll kill the resulting fetus? Why? What purpose could that possibly serve? Like GigaGuess said, the only way this plan makes any sense is if Planned Parenthood is full of cartoon supervillains that do these things just for the evulz.
I think the idea is that Planned Parenthood is making big ol' buckets of money from doing the abortions.
Bluntly, no. To your whole comment. Managed to pack a lot of fail into two little sentences there, Ken. Very efficient.
Asshat.
Planned Parenthood lures your kids into sex outside of marriage
No, hormones do that. They've been around a lot longer than marriage certificates.
@ 1276537 "Why is it that those organizations who aim to provide resources to the weakest and most disadvantaged among us are always the biggest targets of the right?"
Because the more ignorant, miserable, squalid, and disenfranchised the disadvantaged are, the more the working class can be exploited without their complaining about it. There but for the grace of my Privileged Overseer, go I. Simple economics meets useful brain-dead tools.
I call bullshit on this one. I don't know about Planned Parenthood, as we don't have that over here, but...
We do have Mothers' Care Units that deal with all things concerning mothers and potential or unwilling mothers.
I've been there several times to get a prescription for contraceptive pills. Then we wanted to have a kid, and after a few years it became obvious that we don't need any pills, we can't procreate.
Nobody is making money off either abortions or spontaneous abortions over here. They all cost basically the same; around 300 kronor.
My parents have been aware that me and my boyfriend/fiancée/husband have been having sex almost from the start.
The did NOT want us to have their grandchildren until we were ready, as they are both pedagogues and know how difficult it is to raise children.
They were very supportive and kind when I had my spontaneous abortion some ten years ago. Even my brother, who was barely of age, was kind and supportive.
My other brother and my husband's brother both have two kids "out of wedlock" and neither grandparents mind in the least, even though they are all pro-choice.
You know I'm amazed that he didn't bring up the "omg Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist" argument.
Because, clearly, eugenics dominates the goals of Planned Parenthood in modern times, you see.
You're an idiot. Sex without consent is rape. That is fucking disgusting and wrong. So now you have libel and slander on Planned Parenthood. And consented sex outside marriage, consenting adults, however you want to put it is fine. You are full of shit. I hope Planned Parenthood sues you
lures your kids into sex outside of marriage without your knowledge or consent.
Consent?
Does he mean like this:
"Yes little Susie, go fuck the brains out of your boyfriend. And say 'hi' from me. Don't forget a good blowjob every so often. And please always tell me about it afterwards. I like to know about my kids' hobbies."
Nope, ain't gonna happen.
It's an international conspiracy, too! Check out the paragraph before that one:
"The UN CRC is one way that International Planned Parenthood gets access to the children of the world. If ratified by the U.S., it could help them get access to your children in America. That’s because it gives minor children the “right to information” about so-called reproductive health instruction and services."
What a fucking nut case. We need to stop jailing people for pot, and divert those resources to send delusional nuts like this to mental institutions.
So, according to Ken, PP's plan is as follows:
1. Lure children into fornication
2. Abort the fetus
3. ????
4. PROFIT!
This guy pissed me off so much, I created an account using a temporary email address and posted a comment here .

I was trying to edit this into my previous comment, but the edit won't go through, so let's see if this works.
Devil's Chaplain, it's probably a good thing I posted my comment at that article before I read yours above, otherwise I might have been too pissed off to think clearly. For anyone who doesn't know, Ohio had more votes than voters in 2004, and I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that.
Wait, since when are grandchildren your property now?. As far as I know, it's the grandparents of the illegitimate children the first reason why many abort, to begin with.
No, just no. Here's a tip, fundies: Your kids are going to want to have sex, regardless of whether or not they've ever heard of Planned Parenthood.
And they would do this why ? There's a great deal more money to be made by providing prenatal and postnatal care than there is to be made in providing abortions (which is a tiny percentage of everything PP does anyway).
Y'know, I know there are reasonable, rational pro-lifers who really are motivated by the best of intentions (to prevent what they see as the murder of children). I don't agree with them but I know they exist. So why is it that every pro-lifer who shows up on the internet is such a dickhead?
Excuse me if I'm a bit slow here, I'm not from the US.
I've just looked up Planned Parenthood, which tells us "Abortions are very common. In fact, more than 1 out of 3 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old."
I'm sorry, but as a liberal I find that shocking and unacceptable. This is not a statistic of which any human being should be proud. It speaks to me of a country in which people are not managing their birth control responsibly and being way too cavalier about terminations.
The priority must be not to provide good abortion advice but to get America clued up on contraception and drive those termination rates down. I've yet to meet a woman who had an abortion and didn't at some level regret the circumstances that made it the right choice for her.
Ken Blackwell is a reactionary idiot who still imagines he can control the rising generation. However, although young people don't need need his or anyone else's permission to make love, they do need to understand the consequences of what they get up to. If PP is providing good contraceptive advice, power to its elbow; but on the basis of its own stats, it ain't doing enough.
And the fact that your kids are looking for this information anyway means nothing?
I'm certainly not suggesting that you should have any power over whether they are having sex or abortions if they're over the age of consent, but why are you just arguing against providers of accurate information? It sounds to me that you'd prefer your kids' questions to be unanswered, or answered incorrectly.
@#1277425 - "Excuse me if I'm a bit slow here, I'm not from the US. [...] If PP is providing good contraceptive advice, power to its elbow; but on the basis of its own stats, it ain't doing enough."
PP can only help those who come to them. Although abortions are a tiny percentage of the services they provide, too many Americans seem to believe that PP is strictly an abortion clinic, thanks to the religious right spreading their lies about them.
One might think that advertising could help dispel this myth, but PP only receives so much funding, and you probably already know how difficult it can be to reason against religious brainwashing. When a child only hears how evil PP is, and birth control is never mentioned or is demonized by their trusted family and church, no amount of advertisement is going to persuade them to walk into a PP clinic for the help they need.
The problem isn't with PP not doing enough. The problem is with the religious right who teach abstinence-only and demonize clinics like PP.
"Planned Parenthood lures your kids into sex outside of marriage without your knowledge or consent. And then, they get to kill your unborn grandchildren without notifying you."
That's nothing. Here in the UK, a couple can marry at the age of sixteen (the legal age of consent) - but only with said parents' permission. If they tried to, then their parents - by just saying 'We didn't give our consent for such', and immediately their marriage would become null and void. On the other hand, all said 16-year old couple have to do is wait another year, and they can legally marry without their parents' permission. Move out of the family(ies) home(s), and go into a home of their own; start their own family (16 is the minimum age of consent, after all) etc.
And their parents don't have a single legal leg to stand on. They can have kids of their own too - or in the case of the female - not . Abortion has been legal here in the UK since 1967. The Marie Stopes Clinics here give advice (and free contraception) to anyone who wants such. Including about abortions.
Like I say - as long as they're 17, their parents can do diddly-squat about it. And there's fuck all that you can do about it, neither. It's great living in the extremely secular, virtually Atheist (we actually have a state religion: the Church of England, lol) UK, therefore we have absolute Freedom. UK =/= USA.
Suck it, fundies.
dumb ass. They provide pre-natal info and referrals, HRT, pap smears, breast exams and other services. But your ilk could care less and if you prevent me from making my appt. by protesting I will stomp your sorry ass in the ground.

sorry about the double post
@#1277425
Part of the problem is the view that contraception is as bad as abortion, compounded with the stigma of babies out of wedlock.
When it happens, the parents are so mortified and so afraid of backlash from their family and neighbours they turn to the clinic as a way of making the 'problem' quietly go away as an alternative to being forever branded by their peers.
For all the fire they're spewing about abortion, the fundies sure aren't any nicer to the impoverished unwed teens that keep the kids.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
