Quote# 80540

"I feel"

As opposed to "I rationally and objectively think"

Ever since I read about this "I feel" thing I've noticed many many girls say it. And I have never once herd a man say it, ever.

Men don't feel. We analyze data and observe then come to a logical conclusion. Women make statements backed up by nothing and men are expected to shut up and deal with it, or give them an intellectual pass because deep down we know they have the minds of children.

I think April is Misogyny Month at FSTDT.

4/11/2011 11:55:09 AM

I rationally and objectively think that you are a misogynistic prick.

4/11/2011 11:58:27 AM

Not fundie.

Mister Spak

"Men don't feel. We analyze data and observe then come to a logical conclusion."

Then fundie men must all be girly men, because nothing they say is logical. Which explains their obsession with gay sex.

4/11/2011 12:10:12 PM

I feel.... that AC101202 is going to die a virgin.

4/11/2011 12:20:44 PM

I feel you're an idiot.

Women make statements backed up by nothing? Women have the minds of children? Women can't observe and analyze data? Women can't come to logical conclusions?

Like Marie Curie, she won both a Nobel prize in chemistry and in physics thanks to her inability to think logically. She discovered the elements radium and polonium precisely because of her inability to observe and analyze data.

And Rosalind Franklin, whose work in x-ray crystallography was crucial to discovering the structure of DNA, she certainly couldn't observe or analyze data. Not at all.

When Wilhemina Fleming and Annie Jump Cannon helped develop the classification system we use for stars, they did so based only on "feeling." There was no logic in it all, and it was in no way based on their observations or any sort of data.

When Henrietta Swan Leavitt discovered the period-luminousity relationship of Cepheid variables, she certainly didn't do any observation or data analysis of any sort. She discovered an important standard candle and influenced astronomy not because of observing data and drawing logical conclusions. No, it was all based on her "feelings."

When Ada Lovelace wrote what essentially amounts to the first computer algorithm, it had absolutely nothing at all to do with her own careful notes and observations and ability to draw logical conclusions. It had nothing to do with her analytical skill as a mathematician. It was only because of her "feelings."

Need I go on? After all, there are plenty of other women renowned for helping the advance of science with their inability to observe or analyze data and draw logical conclusions from it. There are plenty of other women who contributed to modern science and technology by making important discoveries based only on their "feelings" with their "minds of children."

Of course, once a man goes into politics, he puts all rationality aside and refuses to offer any substantive basis for his histrionics.

4/11/2011 12:32:12 PM

So clearly only women ever say "I feel the Lord Jesus inside me."

Yeah, as fucked up as this is, this site is Fundies, not Misogynists Say the Darndest Things.

"I feel" was what they teach women to say in fucking therapy - I know, I often get to write my mother "I feel" statement filled emails in order to keep from screaming at her.

PS If the economy was better I'd be a highly skilled engineer, known for rationality, thinking ahead, common sense, and objective case studies. duh.

This a Vox Day wannabe?

4/11/2011 12:55:35 PM

You make me FEEL ashamed to have a penis. I hate having to share a gender with you.

4/11/2011 12:55:39 PM

I analysed your message and came to the logical conclusion that you have no fucking idea of what you're talking about.

Also, observation is either a prerequisite of, or included in, analysis. "We analyze data and observe" ("and stuff" ?) isn't exactly a phrase I would expect from a mind as familiar with rational thinking as yours.

Pule Thamex

I feel that AC101202 relies too much on his feelings of insecurity. He has to feel that he is somehow superior to women in order to persuade himself that though he is a useless, thoughtless lump, at least he can claim that he belongs to the princely grouping of noble, clear thinking men. A mighty godling he, not like those silly women. See how he strides manfully across the land bestowing his wit and wisdom on all within earshot. See how the women swoon with the knowledge that a super-mind postures before them. An intellect so mighty that the combined forces of womanhood can only twitter and flutter inconsequentially before the majestic utterances of his oh so clear and logical mind. Therefore, he prefers to consign all women to the same group of simpering weaklings to which his mother belongs.

AC101202 said - " Women make statements backed up by nothing,"

To which my missus replied "You mean statements like that one?"

I will not be able to let her near sharp objects for hours now.

And I have never once herd a man say it, ever.

You must not know very many men. For example, musicians can create soulful ballads and heartfelt solos and poets can write truly heartrending pieces.

Men don't feel. We analyze data and observe then come to a logical conclusion.

So men are just giant computers made of meat? I think that job is done better by, you know, COMPUTERS.

Women make statements backed up by nothing

Like the one you just made?

men are expected to shut up and deal with it, or give them an intellectual pass because deep down we know they have the minds of children

It appears you haven't met many women either.

4/11/2011 1:12:35 PM

from my experience, it's the exact opposite. WOMEN are logical and rational, and MEN act on feeling and make statements backed up by jack shit. You got it backwards. Of course, what do I know, being a man and all...

4/11/2011 1:15:24 PM

We analyze data and observe

I thought observation came before analysis. My teachers in chemistry, biology, physics and geology told me so.

Not that I'm a mental giant, but I am in pursuit of an IT B.A. at the moment. The men outnumber the women in my classes, very true, but those women are every bit as sharp as any man there. And the men are smart enough to know that spouting this sort of drivel will guarantee them a life of great loneliness.

4/11/2011 1:24:48 PM

Doctor Whom

We analyze data and observe then come to a logical conclusion.

So, AC101202, when do you plan to start?

4/11/2011 1:27:26 PM

You read about this "I feel" thing? What are you, an automaton?

4/11/2011 1:38:44 PM

Night Jaguar

We analyze data and observe then come to a logical conclusion.

You're not doing it now.

4/11/2011 1:59:51 PM

I think.

I feel.

I encounter men and women who both make baffling claims and statements that they believe are perfectly rational but only serve to confuse the hell out of others.

I encounter children whose simple logic and uncomplicated world-views should rightfully shame those who consider themselves thinkers.

I think and feel that I'm surrounded by squabbling idiots who give children a bad name and a worse future by obsessively dividing the world in terms of boys vs girls and black vs white in a comparison that belongs in a schoolyard.

Could you please back up this statement or should I give you an intellectual pass?
