People try to say there is no connection between Hitler and Darwin, but a lot of what Hitler was trying to do was to create the perfect race. He eliminated the people he considered to be weak, the retarded people and people in mental institutions. He had one experment of blond haired blue eyed young people that were going to marry and start the perfect race.
When Hitler failed to accomplish his purpose a lot of the theory of evolution was discredited. Evolutionists have done what they could to maintain damage control. Still Hitlers extensive scientific experments falsified a lot of the theory of evolution.

The problem is, even an elementary understanding of genetics is all that's needed to explain why Hitler's experiment failed miserably. (That and the fact that, due to the Allies, he didn't get very long to run it.)

How can he say the experiment was a failure if, you know, the sudden destruction of Germany and the Nazi party ended the experiment before it could be completed. You probably COULD breed a superior race of humans with careful eugenics, though unlike the Nazi ideal the "perfect race" would probably try to capture the best biological aspects of the largest possible (i.e. global) genepool for maximum health and physical power.
How exactly did Hitler's experiments discredit evolution? He attempted to create a "master race" by breeding strong, healthy young people. In the 1936 Olympics, held in Germany coincidentaly, his Aryans were soundly defeated by a **gasp** black man from the US by the name of Jesse Owens. This humiliated Hitler, but by no means discredited evolution.
What Hitler did wasn't NATURAL selection, which is what Darwin was on about, and which you people cannot for the life of you seem to grasp. Were it natural selection, Hitler wouldn't have needed to ship Jews and other so-called "undesirables" off to camps to kill them, they would have just kicked off from heart attacks and whatnot.
When a species dies out because of cold, or lack of food, or disease or predators, it's called natural selection.
When people die off because some asshole decided they don't deserve the lives gawd gave them, that's genocide. Learn the difference.
Europeans had domesticated animals over 8000 years before Hitler, these are all breeding practices. By the 1900s we had long learned to cull the herds or flocks of the weaker unproductive animals, and control the breeding with a variety of the best.
By the time Darwin was working on the theory others were to because breeding had long shown how you could change one flock to something different in only a couple generations. It was regular practice to mix cattle, dogs, horses and sheep breeds and keep the best mixes as a stabilized breed.
That's What hitler was working from. Not trying to create some cross species monsters but to create the strongest, most intelligent race he could by only promoting the breeding of the best, which he had already decided were Aryan. The blue-eyed blonde was the image they projected only BECAUSE those are unique traits of Northern Europeans, who he considered all to be Aryans
This Christian bullshit of trying to marry Hitler to Darwin or Atheism is getting way to common. No one who claims it can find any support for it and ignores what was well known then and for centuries that's a direct cause or rational. It also ignores the banning of Darwins work by the Nazis due to their Christian convictions.
No matter how much you try to connect Hitler and Darwin it's Hitler and Christianity that was the foundation of the Nazis, the racial purity and the Fourth Reich dream.
Darwin: Buried in Westminster Abbey - the central place of worship for the Church of England. He is only one of five non-royalty people buried there.
Hitler: Burned ignominiously in a pit in the middle of a war-blasted Berlin (with the Soviet army closing in). Like the inferior subhuman filthbag he always was.
