This is just another part of the DADT bull**** timebomb getting ready to go off and destroy our military. If it is important for these maggots to be recognized as being a bunch of godless bastards, this old dogface feels they should go look somewhere else to find that recognition. Try the Nobel committee. I’m sure the military will survive without them being in the racks. I’d be willing to bet a dollar to a donut that 99.9% of this crowd are homosexuals and pedophiles anyway. I mean, I think having their activities listed in a religious bulletin, considering that atheism isn't one, is kind of odd, although I guess as an activity related to religion it makes sense. The response, thankfully, is 100% predictable. Fundies tend to be all about religious freedom until someone outside of their bubble tries to use it. Also someone should tell these internet tough guys that Jesus was actually kind of a wuss, and they should consider the Norse religion or the like if they want something manlier.

Uh...which military are you talking about? Religious faith is not a prerequisite for military service in the US. Never has been.

I haven't studied this issue, but I'm actually not again atheists being soldiers. If you do not allow atheists into the military, then you would also need to ban Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc., since all of these religions are equally wrong and atheism is not any better or any worse than any other non-Christian belief. It's a little different than a gay person, who is a direct threat to the morale of other soldiers. An atheist can generally behave normally around others and is indistinguishable from a Christian for the most part. However, atheists who die in the line of duty will not be saved or spend eternity with God, unless they repent and turn to Christ.

Why not? I've worked with gay men. I have a gay couple living next door. My wife and I have even double-dated with gay couples. I've worked with women and gone on overnight business trips with them; and, believe it or not, women are attracted to men, too!

Even assuming a gay man was attracted to you - which certainly isn't given just because you're a male - I don't see why it would cause a problem to have them in your barracks or even in your submarine. If women can resist sexually attacking you at inappropriate times at work, I don't see why gay men couldn't - especially if they know you're straight. A gay guy hitting on a guy they knew was straight would be as much of a waste of time as a straight guy hitting on a woman they knew was a lesbian.

Believe it or not, you're probably not as irresistible as you think - to either sex.

Wait, so you don't think homosexuals can behave like normal people? That's not just extremely offensive but has no basis in reality. It'd be like me saying that African Americans can't behave like normal people so I don't want them working in my office. I hate to even have to make that comparison but I believe it's the only way to show you how offensive and wrong you're being and I feel that if I hit you where it hurts you might finally learn something. Or maybe I'm just being way too optimistic.

Why not? I'm secure in my sexuality and I don't think I'm going to get "converted" or anything. If one happens to find me attractive I'll take it as a compliment all the while letting them know that I'm not interested. Besides, men and women can share a bunk or a submarine without fucking each other all day so why would it be different with a homosexual? Hell, my best friend (a woman) slept on top of me (we were at someone's apartment and they only had a single couch to use, plus I'm told that I've got a very warm and comfy body lol) and we didn't so much as hug the whole time. But again, I'm secure enough in my sexuality and masculinity that I can have women and gays as friends without feeling like I have to stick my dick in any of them.

Umm sorry, but as a gay man I can say this

A person can't just be a guy to make me be attracted to them. There has to be other factors that cummulate, like attitude, looks, personality, their voice, their similarities with me, etc. Like any other person I am attracted to people for more than just their parts.

Plus even if I was attracted to someone, I would not act upon my feelings considering that they are straight, don't like me back, and I'm in a relationship.

Just because I'm gay and we're both men doesn't mean sleeping in the same quarters would be awkward. No gay guys sees EVERY MAN he looks at as someone he can't resist having sex with.
