[Raised by Horses]
we're having a classic prescripti[v]ist vs. descriptivist argument here.
Oh dear, please keep it simple for the Christians.
Using complicated terminology and thinking about things is unbiblical, unholy, unconstitutional, and against the Founders. Amen.
Our Christian friends like to see things the easy, simple, unreflected way. Don't start analysing things and differentiating. That's against Christ.
Just use superficial, demagogical argumentation. God will love you for it. It's his will.

Do you even know what net neutrality is?
(I'll admit I don't, and that's after looking it up!)

And Barton has the ear of more than one Republican presidential hopefull.
Huckerbee said he thought it would be a great idea if all Americans had to listen to a Barton lecture even if it had to be at the point of a gun.

Socialism is the latest Faux News buzzword.
Next week, it'll be some other boogeyman word the faux news crowd can get themselves worked up over...

Hate net neutrality?
Fine. Comcast, one of America's biggest internet providers (if not the biggest) just acquired/merged with NBC.
Since net neutrality is so very very awful to you, you should, therefore, have zero problem with them deciding to favor msnbc.com over foxnews.com, right?

Yes. If you can't come up with a legitimate argument, just call that which you oppose "socialism".

Free Market is not a Biblical principle. That is all.

Speaking as a future economist, this kind of rant is what we get when someone does not understand basic economic concepts and think that an unregulated market automatically means a perfect competition situation. The distortions in the market that would be caused without some kind of enforced net neutrality are not even close to funny. There are markets where lack of regulations leads to the optimum situation, and there are markets where it does not. This is the later, not the former.

Thank you Mr. Barton, for having the courage to put forth the principles we need to support and to bring back to our great nation. May our Lord have mercy upon us, may He grant us the grace to humble ourselves and pray, and to turn from our wicked ways, that He may hear our prayers from heaven and heal our land!

One thing that always astonishes me regarding fundamentalist conservative christians:
On the one hand, they strongly promote "free market principles". No one should interfere with the markets. Everything else is socialism and planned economy. Planned economy is bad because only competition among fresh new ideas can bring progress.
On the other hand, they staunchly reject biological evolution, and immediately subject themselves under the idea of an "intelligent designer", who must not be questioned, and who has designed the species as they are, unchanging, to serve his sacred 6000-year plan.
Somehow, this does not fit... More or less, regarding biological evolution, conservatives are fanatically defending a "planned economy".

"We are called upon at the beginning of the 20th century to decide the question propounded in the Sermon on the Mount, as to whether we will worship God or Mammon. The present day is a Mammon worshipping age. Socialism proposes to dethrone the brute god Mammon and to lift humanity into its place."

Yet another lie from David Barton.
Net Neutrality is the situation we have NOW. What most of those in favor of tiered service plans want is to be able to charge their customers extra to access what they're currently getting now for free--under the guise of a shortage of bandwidth that actually doesn't exist in a desperate bid to wring more money out of their customers in return for less service. If those who oppose net neutrality have their way, you will pay more for less service.
David Barton lies like fish swim--instinctively.
