Quote# 80861

In America, the adoption of evolution in our schools has paved the way for the introduction of the gay agenda. Those pushing it understand that nothing will more thoroughly and quickly undermine the traditional biblical foundations of our country than the normalization of homosexuality among our nation’s school children, regardless of their parents’ beliefs. Currently, under the banner of “tolerance” or “equal rights,” states like Massachusetts, New York, California, Wisconsin and Minnesota are actively implementing a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) curriculum in their public schools. But those behind the effort to legitimize LGBT lifestyles won’t be content until this kind of curricula is taught in all of our nation’s schools.

The schools are teaching evolution and tolerance for the gays, driving out all the superstition and ignorance we worked so hard to pound into our kids! Waaaaah!

What's the matter? Running out of scapegoats?

Aspergus

Oh, no!

This is almost as bad as our children having to go to school with pickaninnies!

4/26/2011 6:00:16 AM

So, how does this relate to evolution?

4/26/2011 6:28:35 AM

I really don't get why he threw in that evolution bit in the first sentence.

In America, the adoption of Christianity in our communities has paved the way for the introduction of the fundie agenda. Those pushing it understand that nothing will more thoroughly and quickly undermine the inalienable constitutional rights of our country than the normalization of hierarchical tyranny among our nation’s Sunday school children, mimicking their parents’ implanted beliefs. Currently, under the banner of “morals” or “family values,” states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Oklahoma are actively banning equal human rights. But those behind the effort to demonize LGBT lifestyles won’t be content until this kind of sectarian hatred is taught in all of our nation’s schools.

See how easy that was, Sparky?

The Theory of Evolution has nothing to do with the supposed "gay agenda". You're just deluded by your religion into thinking that gays (especially gay men!) do not deserve to be treated like human beings. These curricula are being implemented for the same reason kids are taught about MLK Jr. and women's suffrage: to understand the past mistreatments of certain subsets of the population, the rationalization for said mistreatments, and that such reasoning is complete bullshit.

Mister Spak

Gay Agenda:

6:00 am Gym
8:00 am Breakfast (oatmeal and egg whites)
9:00 am Hair appointment
10:00 am Shopping
12:00 PM Brunch

2:00 PM
1) Assume complete control of the U.S. Federal, State and Local
Governments as well as all other national governments,
2) Recruit all straight youngsters to our debauched lifestyle,
3) Destroy all healthy heterosexual marriages,
4) Replace all school counselors in grades K-12 with agents of Colombian
and Jamaican drug cartels,
5) Establish planetary chain of "homo breeding gulags" where over-medicated
imprisoned straight women are turned into artificially impregnated baby
factories to produce prepubescent love slaves for our devotedly
pederastic gay leadership,
6) bulldoze all houses of worship, and
7) Secure total control of the INTERNET and all mass media for the
exclusive use of child pornographers.

2:30 PM Get forty winks of beauty rest to prevent facial wrinkles from
stress of world conquest
4:00 PM Cocktails
6:00 PM Light Dinner (soup, salad, with Chardonnay)
8:00 PM Theater
11:00 PM Bed (du jour)?

I don't see anything about evolution in here. Do I have an outdated copy?

Homosexuality is already "normalized" over here, and we have been teaching ToE in schools since long before I was born.
So what? Most people still consider themselves to be Christian (about 70 percent of the Swedish population) and most people are still heterosexual.
(Fun fact; during the second half of the 19th century the term heterosexuality was used for what we today call bisexuality. It has also been used to describe all kinds of sex that did not aim towards child-rearing.)

What does evolution have to do with the "gay agenda"?
There are as many LGBT lifestyles as there are LGBT people, just as there are many different straight lifestyles.
My straight lifestyle is not the same as Pat Robertson's or Newt Gingrish'.

Papabear

So, favoring facts over superstition paves the way for the "gay agenda." Good. About time.

Doubting Thomas

So... what's that got to do with evolution?

4/26/2011 7:16:43 AM

Former teacher

Yes, they figured it all out. The real agenda in schools has nothing to do with teaching kids to treat everyone with decency and dignity. It's all about destroying the country. After all, if America doesn't have bigotry and prejudice, what do we have????

Brendan Rizzo

I am sorry, but I can't for the life of me comprehend what evolution has to do with homosexuality. After all, it was universally accepted for several decades before people started treating gays with equal rights and respect.

Katherine Lorraine

Seriously, where is this gay agenda? When do I get mine? I'm dating another guy (same sex, not same gender) and haven't got mine. I don't know what I have to do. Someone has to help me :(

4/26/2011 7:30:56 AM

At this point they're just smashing shit they don't agree with together and acting like it's the same thing. Don't like gays, evolution, progressive politics, or secularism? Write an article about how progressives have introduced the secular religion of evolution into the school curriculum to recruit straight children and convert them to homosexuality. There, outrage accomplished. Making any fucking sense or bringing anything vaguely resembling a fact to the table is purely optional.

I had no idea the teaching of evolution leads to Gay individuals given equal rights. Now, I love evolution even more.

Oh, ew. Ew ew ew ew.

This jagoff is arguing for a 'gender-normative' type of reality. I can bet you he's of the cloth that women should be barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen, serving as the footstool for her husband, and any person who decides that women can be as strong (or stronger) than a man is a deviant.

Fuck those people.

4/26/2011 8:02:34 AM

Wait, don't fundies generally reject homosexuality because it's "incompatible" with evolution...but still reject evolution anyway?

What does it have to do with creationism ? Or maybe... *shock* maybe "creation science" doesn't really exist, and the creationist movement is just an attempt to subvert the educational system into a Christian indoctrination tool. That would explain why creationists talk so much about religious morality...

Anon-e-moose

"In America, the adoption of evolution in our schools has paved the way for the introduction of the gay agenda."

Pop quiz, hotshot: the one who ruled for the plaintiffs in Kitzmiller vs. Dover (and thus annihilating Creationism, a.k.a. 'I.D.')? Judge John E. Jones III. He was personally appointed to the Federal bench by one George Dumbya Bush. Who voted in Dumbya - twice? - The Religious Right.

So the Religious Right - Conservative Christians who believe in Creationism, voted in a president (twice) who is a Conservative Christian who believes in Creationism, who himself appointed to the position of Federal court judge a man who is a Conservative Christian himself - have paved the way for the so-called 'gay agenda'? Gotcha.

In the same way, the Religious Right voted in Ronnie Raygun, who initially nominated Vaughn Walker (but whose position as judge was successfully opposed by a group of Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi; oh, the irony!), but failed; then Walker was personally appointed by GHW Bush (again, voted in by the Religious Right), who just last year overturned Prop. 8 Okay. Therefore...:

"Currently, under the banner of “tolerance” or “equal rights,” states like Massachusetts, New York, California, Wisconsin and Minnesota are actively implementing a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) curriculum in their public schools. But those behind the effort to legitimize LGBT lifestyles won’t be content until this kind of curricula is taught in all of your nation’s schools."

And those behind said 'effort to legitimize LGBT lifestyles [who] won’t be content until this kind of curricula is taught in all of [y]our nation’s schools'?

You.

Hindsight isn't 20-20, I think you'll find.

You Religious Right types are the ones destroying your own agenda(s) (certainly educational; if not all of them). It's you who are helping we Atheists (including we straight, but pro-LGBT types) in ways that not even we Atheists could imagine. And we Atheists don't even have to lift a finger. It's you who are doing our own work for us

Dance, our puppets, dance. >:D

The only possible solution to your current woes - and self-inflicted foot-in-mouthitis/auto-arse-kicking? Simple: just follow Scripture. Matthew 6:6 ring any bells? Well, just keep yourselves, and your 'beliefs' - and therefore your own insane 'opinions' & agendas based on such - in said closet. That titbit of Scripture orders you to do so, after all.

Quakers. Unitarian Universalists. Amish/Mennonites. Quiet. Humble. Keep themselves (and their beliefs) to themselves. Never proseltyse. Never bother anyone, they're not bothered by anyone. You do the maths, Creation Studies Institute.

If I remember right, evolution states that those who are better fit to the environment survive. No gay thing anywhere. Next?
