Quote# 81103

While many world leaders praised the U.S. killing of Osama bin Laden, the president of Peru went a step further on Monday, calling the development the first miracle of Pope John Paul II since he was beatified last weekend.

“I have said that his first miracle has been to remove from the Earth this demonic incarnation of crime, evil and hatred,” Peruvian president Alan Garcia said, according to CNN affiliate America TV in Peru.

“And I think that’s great news that should please Mr. Obama,” Garcia went on, referring to the U.S. president. “In some way, it also vindicates (former) President George W. Bush who made the decision to punish bin Laden and to patiently continue this work that is finally bearing fruit.”

Pope John Paul II, who died in April 2005, was beatified in Rome on Sunday, hours before Obama announced that bin Laden had been killed in Pakistan by U.S. Special Forces.

Beatification is the last step before sainthood and requires someone to have performed one miracle after his or her death. Sainthood requires the church to confirm a second miracle.

This is completely retarded.

Miracle, huh? So finding the courier and sending in the SEALs had nothing to do with it, then?

While many world leaders praised the U.S. killing of Osama bin Laden, the president of Peru went a step further on Monday, calling the development the first miracle of Pope John Paul II since he was beatified last weekend.

--- Can we have proof that this is so?

“I have said that his first miracle has been to remove from the Earth this demonic incarnation of crime, evil and hatred,”

--- What about JP II's responsibility for allowing pederast priests to continue in ministries where they had access to children, and his church's protection of those priests and shielding them from the civil powers?

Peruvian president Alan Garcia said, according to CNN affiliate America TV in Peru.

“And I think that’s great news that should please Mr. Obama,” Garcia went on, referring to the U.S. president.

--- Most Americans, I should think!

“In some way, it also vindicates (former) President George W. Bush who made the decision to punish bin Laden and to patiently continue this work that is finally bearing fruit.”

--- Bush had 8 years to catch Bin Laden. He FAILED. How much have you been paid to bathe Bush in the light of Obama's glory? It's pathetic to do so. Bush FAILED, and all the Mission Accomplished banners will not change that.

Pope John Paul II, who died in April 2005, was beatified in Rome on Sunday, hours before Obama announced that bin Laden had been killed in Pakistan by U.S. Special Forces.

--- So sainthood now demands blood as its price?

Beatification is the last step before sainthood and requires someone to have performed one miracle after his or her death. Sainthood requires the church to confirm a second miracle.

---The ancient Roman Senate was more powerful. It needed no miracles. It just made the deceased Emperor a GOD, so I am not really impressed with a mere beatification or canonisation. Try harder to be less idiotic.

“In some way, it also vindicates (former) President George W. Bush who made the decision to punish bin Laden and to patiently continue this work that is finally bearing fruit.”

That's funny. Because I remember Bush completely ignoring Afghanistan once bin Laden had fled to persue his personnal vendetta against Saddam Hussein.

And I know the hierarchy of the Catholic church is superstitious, but I think even they will not confuse an extermination campaign by the CIA and special forces of the US for a post-mortem miracle. Not even Catholic dogma can be that desperate.

No, you idiot. Just no.

Like it or not, Bin Laden was human, all too human. People committing terrorist acts like him do so because of weaknesses in human nature, not because of fucking fairies in the aether.

Yet more proof that one needn't have a functioning brain to rise to the leadership of an entire country. As if Bush wasn't enough.

“I have said that his first miracle has been to remove from the Earth this demonic incarnation of crime, evil and hatred,”

How do you know it wasn't a miracle of George Patton?

5/6/2011 4:27:31 AM

In 2005, Bush closed up what little was left of the department that was originally assigned to find bin Laden, after having already taken that department down to bare bones back in 2002 when he decided to divert nearly all funding and intelligence personnel to his war-for-profit in Iraq; CIA leaders have been complaining about this since 2002.

If that's not enough for you, Google the 2002 press conference in which Bush said about bin Laden, "I don't know where he is. I don't spend that much time on it".

A dead pope had nothing to do with it. Hours before the bullshitification beatification, and even more hours before bin Laden was killed, I put on my magic red socks. So, if any one person gets credit for his takedown, it should be me!

Cash, electronic transfers to my bank account, and money orders are all acceptable means of expressing your thanks.

Well...it's retarded alright, but at least it's a different kind of retarded than we'd usually see around here. At least it didn't somehow try to make the killing of Bin Ladin into some sort of proof that Obama is the anti-Christ, and that any day now the Rapture will happen.

Beatification is the last step before sainthood and requires someone to have performed one miracle after his or her death.

Yeah, sure, uh huh, ol' Pope Johnny Paul really cured that nun of Parkinson's Disease two years after he died. Yeah, sure he did.

Sainthood requires the church to confirm a second miracle.

Why doesn't the church just admit they want to publicly credit John Paul for his leadership as Pope? Why do they find it necessary to fool around with this "miracle" bullshit?

Or the US Intelligence Community and highly trained Navy SEAL teams. One of the two.

Praise be to the magic red socks! Comfy and slidey be they! May they forever be cleansed in the Tide and their static build up on the carpets of shag!

It's funny how magic sky pixies always work at the same rate as human or natural action. It's almost as though ... gosh, I know this is going to sound like silly talk ... they had no hand in it.

It is also insulting to the guys who did the work of tracking the courier, and the Intelligence community, who sift through tons of other information.

And what, pray, is the colour of the sky in your dimension, Al?

Meanwhile on Planet Reality

Last time I heard, it was President Barack Obama who was C-in-C of the US armed forces. Which includes the Navy SEALs.

Must be cold in that river in Egypt, Al m'boy.

So a dead pope who forgave in person the guy who shot him guided Seal Team 6 to a compound in Pakistan to assassinate Osama?

As religion is utterly retarded then a claim like this isn't all that surprising.

Usually modern-day saint miracles involve nice things like miraculous healings & stuff and JP2 was pretty much a guy who taught peace to the point of being consistant with the "Pro-Life" thing: Not just against abortion but also warfare, the death penalty, etc. Although he was staunchly conservative & did zilch about the stupid pedos infiltrating the priesthood, he was at least somewhat progressive & ecumenical in a way (compared to his successor, he looks like John Lennon). That said, Mr. Garcia, you sound like an idiot & Obama & the SEALS did the job.

(I'm Pro-Choice so please don't get the wrong idea & JP2 was pretty stubborn in regards to women, reproduction, LGBTs, etc.)

If Obama were a Roman Catholic and had actually prayed to the "Blessed Pope John Paul II" for the killing of Bin Laden, Garcia might have a specious point. But that doesn't seem very likely.

Many Peruvians already think Garcia is an idiot, so I guess this shouldn't be completely unexpected.

Since Bin Laden was the #2 killer of Americans over the past decade maybe the saint can help us get the #1 killer of Americans arrested and charged with his crimes at least? He is easy to find, he lives in Crawford, Texas!
