Just because you have not defined the soul or understand what it is, that does not mean it does not exist. You cannot refute a religious fundy by returning an unsupported viewpoint for their unsupported viewpoint. Lack of proof of a positive is not the same as proof of a negative.
And women are just as valid as men in every sense. There is no excuse for misogyny on any level.

I'm certain that Mary, the earthly mother of Your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, would take offense to that.

The Apostles were rather cross with their Lord on several occasions when he ditched their sausage party to hang out with Mary Magdalene and other women, at one point asking if Jesus favored her over them.
Think about the implications of the immaculate birth. No *man* was involved with the birth of Christ. If men were really special why not make Joeseph "Mr. Mom" just to knock up the miracle another notch.
The word of God AKA Your own opinion will not help you here. We are physically designed to be incapable of going on as a species without the opposite sex. Why exactly would God decree either one of us the lesser but make us so interdependant for survival?
I'll go by what I can see with my own eyes. Women are just as capable of compassion and cruelty as men. As familiar with sober thought as emotional outburst. Equally prone to establishing dominance (though methods differ) and just as likely to rebel against control.
In other words: no difference between us spiritually.
Sorry if I've jostled your childish fantasies and ruined the dynamic of your game of house little boy, but the adults are talking now and they have grown-up things to do.

Simple question: What is a soul, and where can it be found?
The supposition that man has a soul separate from his body and conscience is an old one, yet scientists throughout the ages have not been able locate, through multiple experiments and measurements, any such force, and believe me, it isn't for a lack of trying. The answer to deduct from this? Souls are a human invention, much as the concept of an afterlife.
We have a hard time believing that life simply ends when it ends. ("No! There must be an afterlife!"). But saying that it's true simple because we want to believe in it? That's begging the question if I ever saw it.

Nim was using the soul as in 'separation of mind and body' sense (something which has to all but the staunchest philosophers - who often acknowledge that they are essentially trolls by trade - been proven false to reasonable certainty), not in the sense of "soul is the pattern of the mind".

I believe in science, logic, reason, common sense, personal freedom, equal rights & so on...I also believe in a spiritual reality & an afterlife!
Matter, Mind & Spirit are one and the same! All is one! None of these are seperate. Separation is an illusion. Matter, Mind & Spirit are different wavelengths...like different radio stations or TV channels, if you will. You can't perceive all at once (although some rare people can to an extent). Reality is Pantheistic & Monistic. There is no "Supernatural". There is no "God" in the sense of a big guy in the sky who's apart from everything. The Supernatural/Paranormal/Godhead is part of a big continum. Thus, in a way, you are just as right as I am.
This is just my view, of course. I'll respect yours. Quit ridiculing spiritual people. We're not all the same! Ridicule fundies & staunch religionists, instead! Thank you. *HUGS*

When I was in a fundie cult, I was taught that the soul is the physical processes that run the body. I'm pretty sure all living things have that. As to the regular fundie idea of the soul, that's probably romanticizing the brain, just like when people say their heart tells them something.

If women have no soul, what would the meaning of obeying God would be?. I don't know about Iraq or Islam(or that kind of Islam for that matter), but I think that the only religion which supports that kibosh was Mithraism, which, by the way, didn't believe in the existence of souls(he forbade women to join the religion, though). It may be for a reason.
