You should probably be asking him to "anoint" Obama instead.

You should be more specific in your requests. Were I of the prayin' persuasion, I don't think you'd like what I prayed for regarding you.

I'm always confused how you people think that begging and whining incessantly like a spoiled child is supposed to influence your all powerful deity into acquiescing to your demands.

Nah. Nothing to it. Just ask Palin. All you have to do is stand there, smile and look good while all of the male Republicans drool on their shoes over you. Then you get up there, prattle on about things you don't understand, make statements you can't back up and generally show that you neither know nor care what you're doing.
Then write a book after you lose the election and go on book/lecture tours when you need a spare couple of million dollars.

Prayer is so disingenuous. You ask god for something and then go and do it for yourself anyway. Some faith these people have in him. If they really believed prayer worked then they wouldn't even need campaigns and donations, hell, they wouldn't even have to vote. God would just wag his finger or wiggle his nose and suddenly his candidates would have all the votes they need. Certainly his candidates wouldn't keep losing elections.
