Bullying doesn't work that way. It doesn't happen because people deserve or attract it. It happens because people decide to do it. And they shouldn't, regardless of the excuse they bring to bear in any particular case.

As others have said, you don't even have to be gay to be bullied. Kids will look for any excuse to pick on others. You would be fuming if your Christian kids were bullied and someone suggested that they stop carrying a Bible.
First of all, gay people didn't steal the rainbow--you can't steal a symbol, you can only use it. Rainbows can still symbolize whatever you want them to mean for you.
The LGBT community simply uses the rainbow to symbolize a society in which ALL sexual orientations and gender expressions--including all the cisgendered straight folks out there--are treated equally, with the dignity and respect due to all human beings. A society in which diversity is prized, not shunned, in which a million flowers bloom instead of some being poisoned and called "weeds."

Bullying is bullying and there are kids in the US being tried in court for it as it is alleged it was at the root of another student's suicide.
I switched schools several times as a child (due to my father being in the foreign service) and in the ONLY school where I was not bullied at all, the kids were almost all Native American. Although they were tough inner-city kids, they had no problem with gays.
You can be as straight as Dubya is stupid and not worry about other people's orientations. There's lots more in life to fret over.

How, exactly, does one steal a rainbow? Stealing is against the law of probably every country in the world, but stealing a rainbow -- that goes against the laws of physics.
I did a Google image search with just the word "rainbow" and there were none on the first page with an explicit gay connection, however, there were a couple with an explicit xtian connection. Most of them just nice photographs of rainbows and the use of the rainbow as a design element.
