[Upon being told that homophobes are on the "losing side of history."]

Considering that the last 3 civilizations that accepted faggotry (Greek, Roman and German) ended up facist, socialist, pedophile, militarist, warmongering, psychotic, shallow, physical beauty obsessed, hyper-masculine, woman and feminine homosexual repressing hellholes...and eventualy died a slow and painful death...yeah, i would say we are on the losing side of history. The classical case of a society that accepts faggotry and ends up regreting it until it is too late. The good thing about it is that in the end the useful idiots fags will end up being repressed too just like it happened in Greece, Rome and Germany where the girly homosexuals were repressed by their "fellow" butch-homosexuals when they were no longer useful.

The Greek empire disappeared after Rome took it over and Rome started to crumble after it embraced Christianity.

Im sorry, but is Moonbattery lamenting the fall of Nazi Germany?

@casewithscience, it certainly looks that way. Role models and all that.

You're posting on Moonbattery, and you don't like the oppression of women? They should root you out for being a "blasphemer" or something because you're not representing your site correctly.

Every society's gotta die sometime, and usually their deaths are caused by fanatical assholes like you attempting to destroy innocent people and ideas that don't fit into your fascist world view and somehow gaining enough support to win.

Sarcasm also makes you sound really smart.

I think "Pete" is referring to the Weimar period rather than the Nazi era when referring to Germany -- and it's actually a fairly common heterosexual-supremacist trope ("gay Weimar decadence paved the way for the Nazi takeover!"). Unfortunately for Pete, this requires insisting that a Weimar Period level of gay acceptance (mostly in the artistic community) for the amount of time between WWI and the Nazi takeover (i.e. less than 20 years) is enough to cause the complete collapse of a civilization. Meanwhile, most of Europe and even the U.S. passed the Weimar Republic in terms of gay-friendliness 30 years ago at the latest.

My problem is not that this guy is ignorant, it's that he's fucking HAPPY about it. Ignorance can be remedied - it turns into stupidity the moment one decides to be ignorant on purpose.

You win, good sir.

History is very clearly another topic that fundies fail at forever (are we even surprised anymore?), but what really gets me is the sheer arrogance that comes along with their ignorance.

I wonder, what are you like in person?

The things you say & "know" make you sound as if you just say things because it makes a knot in your chest loosen just a little.
You find relief and continue along the path, hoping that if you ejaculate all this nonsense affirmatively enough, that your sorrows will be untethered and you'll find a delightfully sighing smile at the end of the rant.
Until you're packed full of shit again by those you admire and aim to emulate.

It then starts all over again. The blinkers keep slipping off. You keep pushing them back into place, running full steam ahead.

You hope the world would just happen already so that you may finally stop pumping out your continually eroding shell of vitriol; a slimy coating that lubricates your way through life and at the same time burns anything it touches, your signal that makes clear to others "Hey don't eat me, I'm nasty"

Good job.

I don't know why fundies keep insisting that the Romans were this uber-gay-friendly lot. Yes, they understood that homosexuality was part of human nature, but public displays of same-sex affection were frowned upon and, despite the antics of certain emperors, same-sex relationships could still result in scandal and downfall in the higher echelons of society.

Pete, you ought to read up on what the Nazis used pink triangles for. They were actually even more against homosexuals than you are.

Btw, the latest civilization that accepted "faggotry" is modern day Europe.

You really feel comfortable calling other nations militarist, warmongering, shallow and hyper-masculine?
In what way is a homosexual more or less "useful" than any other human being?

Pete of Moonbattery must be on Moonbattery acid. What histories have you read, Pete? Have you bothered to read Latin or Greek, even in translation? Clearly not. You got your democracy from the Greek. It's even a Greek word, for heaven's sake! Demos Kratia - the rule of the people is what it means. And Rome did just fine for 1,000 years until the Christians took over and introduced laws again homosexuality. But that was not the cause of the fall of the Empire in the West. It was military and economic collapse combined with meteorological conditions that favoured so-called Barbarians and gve them an easy way to outflank the border protection across a frozen Rhine. The Empire in the East continued for another 1,000 years - right up to 1452, in fact. As for Fascist Germany, it persecuted and killed gays. Sounds like you would do so too if you had the chance. So next time you bother to exercise your franchise, as you cast your vote remember that this is something that was gifted to you and your country by a nation that approved of homosexuality, and that in partcipating in this democracy you are decidedly participating, in a fashion, in a gay ideal. Choke on that.

It might have been a couple years since high school history class, but even my pathetic memory span can tell you that you fail.
Roman Empire I believe grew too powerful to keep it together, not to mention piss off everybody with their constant conquering. You want to talk about pedophilia? Ummm Catholic clergy!! I know that was a cheap shot but, eh.
German Empire? Yeah. Not too enthusiastic about homosexuality.
I didn't learn about the Greek Empire, but I suspect you don't possess the knowledge to call yourself a Historian.
It's called research Pete. I may not, but you're trying to argue here so you need to.

Uh, the ancient Greeks discovered the concept of Democracy and paved the way for the vast majority of Western thought. The Germans didn't accept homosexuals until recently (as is the case in much of Europe) and certainly not before or during the time they were ruled by the Nazis. The Nazis were as anti-gay as conservative fundies. The Romans may have been authoritarian, aggressive douche nozzles but you'll find at least a few examples of douche nozzles in any grouping unless that grouping is "people who aren't douche nozzles". Also, you failed to mention the numerous countries that support homosexual rights that are actually peaceful and nice such as Sweden, The Netherlands, Canada, Iceland, Spain, Norway, etc.
