Funny thing... if it wasn't for the Catholics... these Protestants wouldn't be here. And, I've been to mass with my wife and daughter (no, I'm not Catholic) enough to know that Catholics are Christians... and you know what, Marcion? If you read the Fathers of the Church, you know what you'll find? That they were... wait for it... Catholic!

Theology fail. Catholics don't worship Mary and especially not as a goddess, they simply feel that the best way to get Jesus to do anything is to have his mother put in a good word for them.

To be somewhat fair, some of the more fringe Catholics do seem to worship Mary and even place more value on her than they do on God or Jesus. They just don't like admitting to it.

Well, as an Italian , I do see how worship of saints and Mary verges on idolatry. I'm actually quite amazed, as an atheist, of how ignorant and even borderline-blasphemous catholic believers can be. But then again, incorporating minor pagan deities in "official" religion is the price you pay for quickly expanding christianity.
