Quote# 81441

Charles [Barkley], when I walk into the women’s restroom at work, it’s called “sexual harassment” even if I don’t say anything to them. That’s because I’m attracted to women.

What do you call it when a gay man is in the locker room with men, Chuck? I’ll give you a hint: same thing.””

The goal is to allow the deviants, full, unhindered, access to the object of their sick obsession.

Sorry, straight ladies. Since gay men like men, men are now off-limits for everyone.

Of COURSE you are surrounded by people who are sexually obsessing over you 24/7. There's no way known anyone who is remotely attracted to men would totally ignore you, have a piss and walk past you as if you didn't exist, oh wait...

Gay men have always shared locker rooms with straight.

As someone who endures sexual abuse I find your whining offensive. Us girls in high school actually welcomed some guys(Gay) into the bathroom to hang out and smoke. We didn't really give a damn so you're telling me that your too insecure and immature to handle some gay guys. Grow the fuck up!

It's clear that this is a redneck.

In Europe there is little distinction made. The main thing that this idiot misses is that for most people the performance of a bodily function is not a pretty or attractive thing. although with free-pee-ers who can tell.

And as for sick obsessions, Free-pee-ers, Rupturites and their ilk have them in spades!

But the problem seems to go deeper. Americans prefer odd terms such as comfort stations (damned if I ever saw a train in one), restrooms (not the kind of place I would want to rest) and bathrooms (they do tend strongly not to have baths, especially in supermarket malls, and most people shower anyway!). I attribute this odd nomenclature to an inherent puritanism among enough Americans to make such terms feasible. But I suppose they are no odder than WC or Water Closet. My favourite, though, is Loo. Must go though. And when you got to go, you got to go! Much more vital than ogling the other sex - or the same.

I'm bisexual, and I can safely say that when I'm in a locker room/changing room/bathroom/WC with someone my own sex, I'm more interested in doing what I need to do (change clothes/use the bathroom) than lusting over them.

My favorite part is how he actually addressed Charles Barkley in his annonymous, unimportant internet comment

What do you call it when a gay man is in the locker room with men, Chuck?

I call it another day in the locker room.

What do you call it when a gay man is in the locker room with women?

I’ll give you a hint: same thing.

You crap in the locker room?

The goal is to allow the deviants, full, unhindered, access to the object of their sick obsession.

Setting aside your obvious bigotry, what do you propose? Screening for gays at the locker room door? I'd like to see you try.

Even if you somehow succeeded--you'd be sued into oblivion.

The most problematic part of this quote:

"WHEN I walk into the women's restroom at work," not "if."

@ MEEEEEEE

That's because in an interview Charles Barkley said that he knew that there were gay men in the locker rooms that he had been in, that he was perfectly comfortable with it, and that others need to get over it. In short, Charles was saying that people like Neoliberalnot need to grow up and accept people for who they are.

Keep in mind that for years Charles Barkley also said that he was a Republican.

Wait...so we seriously have some dude on the internet insisting that Charles Barkley is completely wrong about the social environment of NBA locker rooms?

The difference is, if you're a man, you have no legitimate reason for going into a women's restroom; whereas gay men still have to relieve themselves and change their clothes.

Well,Neoliberalnot, that is just plain stupid.

No, it's because you're not a woman. A gay man would be prosecuted the same way.

Sounds more like it's sexual harassment because you seem to like it's a habit. I've accidentally walked into the woman's bathroom at work when I was distracted once, and nothing came off it other than me walking out red-faced with embarrassment a few seconds later.

What do you call it when a gay man is in the locker room with men, Chuck? I’ll give you a hint: same thing.

I call it a normal day. I've changed, taken showers in the gym with men I know are gay and I've never felt awkward around them. They want to get out of the locker room/bathroom as much as you do and do their business.

The goal is to allow the deviants, full, unhindered, access to the object of their sick obsession.

Yes, like because I loose control whenever I see a naked woman, gay men loose control whenever they see a naked man. [/sarcasm mode]

Problem: gay men are seeing exposed men in the restrooms.

Solution: gay men cannot poop anymore!

Makes perfect sense in Bizarroland!

"Charles [Barkley], when I walk into the women’s restroom at work, it’s called “sexual harassment”"

No, it's called being an idiot. Make sure you read the sign on the door. The sign "LADIES" means you're going in the wrong direction. Far out, what are you, five?

I think it is a bad sign for literacy in this country when so many people struggle to even read a dictionary.

How in the love of christ do you know that someone has teh ghey?

Sounds like you're more obsessed with gay men than they are with their own orientation, prick.

So, toilets were made for gay people to look at straight peoples' naughty bits? Well how about that. The reason you're not shitting into a hole in the ground is so I can see other guys' dicks.

Gay guy here. You're probably unattractive and I wouldn't want to have to shower with you anyway.

5/25/2011 4:15:09 AM

I'm a straight male and also spend alot of time in theatres. These theatres have unisex changing rooms and some of the cast are gay. At no time have I sexually harrassed an actress, been sexually harrassed by one when changing or had either of the same happen with another actor...

5/25/2011 10:42:52 AM

SeekerLancer

Oh no, a gay man might see you changing and find it attractive. How will you ever survive?

You're afraid of gays, the very definition of homophobic. Get help.

When somebody goes to the bathroom, knowing that there are people of the opposite sex, we all know it's not for playing chess. Please, look for a better excuse.
