[Re. Muslim Americans]

The men with the hats and the nightshirts and the women with the burqas wear these clothes as a sign of being part of an Islamic separatist movement.

They are not here to be American. They are here to destroy America.

To me, that garb is the same to Black Americans as the sheets the KKK wears.

You are sooo right! Remember the traditional muslim garb the nineteen hijackers wore on September 11, 2001?

When American Muslims show up on your lawn in those outfits and burning crescent moons, you'll have a case. Until then, get over it. This is AMERICA, punk. If they want to go around wearing burnooses and burqas, it is their right to do so.

Expressing one's religious freedom (including religions you don't like) is what being an American is all about.

So, we all have to dress like suburban 1950's Beaver Cleaver dorks now, huh?

Oh...This is AMERICA...The Melting Pot...E PLURIBUS UNUM...A Democratic-Republic hodgepoge of many Nations, Cultures & Creeds...(though many are making it otherwise, The TRAITORS!)

And frankly, the only "Real True Bona-Fide All-American Culture" would involve Pow Wows, Frybread, Teepees, Wigwams, Pueblos, Mucklucks, Seal-Fur Parkas, Igloos, Ulu knives, Dreamcatchers, Papooses, Peace Pipes, LaCrosse Games, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Kinnick Kinnick, Medicine People, Two-Spirits (OMG! Teh GHEEEEYYS!), Turtle Island & Wanka Tanka....It's not "American As Mom, Apple Pie & Baseball"...rather it's, "American As Mom, Frybread & LaCrosse".

Nobody has mentioned yet that the KKK was/is a christinsane organization.... So, I thought I would mention it. Funny that.

Could you kindly point me where that law is spelled out? I would gladly point it out in my classroom.

My primary thought when it comes to American Muslims is this:

I'm gay. And the first American Muslim member of Congress, Rep. Keith Ellison, has my back in Congress more than the vast majority of American Christian members of Congress. He doesn't pull any of that heterosexual-supremacist bullshit: he says publicly that I should be able to get married, be out of the closet on the job (and in the Army), etc. And it's not just the LGBT stuff -- he's one of the few Democrats that I'd be happy to call a good progressive politician. (Most of the members of Congress that I can really be enthusiastic about are also members of the Congressional Black Caucus -- and I'm white. Go figure.) If I were in his district, dude wouldn't just have my (enthusiastic) vote, he'd have my volunteer hours campaigning for him. Sure, we might not have the same theological positions (though I'm a Unitarian-Universalist, so I do have some Muslims in my church), but he's a damn good guy and one of the few decent politicians we have.

I'm not going Muslim in the foreseeable future, but Muslims here in the U.S. have some pretty good representation.

> Islamic separatist movement

Yeah, so much worse than the Christian separatist movement. Or not.

Priests wear collars and nuns wear habits as a sign of the Christian separatist movement.

They are not here to be American. They are here to destroy America.

To me, that garb is the same to Black Americans as the sheets the KKK wears.

And the Orthodox Jews?. Oh dear, it's so funny the slippery slope.

Wow, that's funny. I say the same thing about people who wear cross necklaces. (Protip: I don't really say that.) Obviously, they are not here to be American. They are here to be Christians and destroy America. [sarcasm]Obviously.[/sarcasm]

America is a country that is SUPPOSED to allow all religions. People like you are trying to destroy that, and have been trying to destroy that since the country's conception. Good day, Sir.

When I went to Pride, there was a Muslim group that was selling taquiyah (the hat that Muslim guys wear) and headscarves. Your head would have exploded. :3

I definitely oppose burqa's and veils. They are a form of disgusting oppression. It's subjugation, not culture, and you can't compare it to things like headscarves (Which I have no problem at all with.) But yeah, burqa's and veils are definitely bad, and as an advocate of the equality of men and women I cannot at all support those things with some culture excuse.

But even so the ones destroying the US and the world are fundies. And christian fundies aren't any better then muslim fundies. Fact is fundies are bad.

Or it could be their culture. But to you a foreign culture is evil, isn't it?
