Also, even after experiencing the horror that you describe the people in the middle east would still be able to distinguish the sympathizers you plan on dropping off and the horrible people left back home.

@mathius-dragoon: Not really; Egypt and some of the other north African countries where the rebellions started weren't theocracies, but repressive secular dictatorships. In the actual Arab theocracy, Saudi Arabia, one protest was planned and failed.
I think the fact that conservatives are responding to pro-democracy protests with the same vitriol and paranoia as they responded to an actual terrorist attack is only showing their racism. THEIR idea of democracy in the Middle East is installing compliant puppets after bombing the shit out of a country, not people organizing themselves to boot an asshole out of power.

@Michelle: There is actually a good chance that after being carpet-bombed by America the majority of the survivors would shred any American they encountered. Not doing so would be magnanimity and rational self-control in impressive extremes, especially since there wouldn't be a lot left to lose by violent behavior. Seriously, dumbass, people with nothing left to lose are the scariest. Even if they did for some reason not have any weapons more advanced than rifles, America would be in for a world of hurt.
