The answer would be the air force bases you launched these attacks from worldwide, which would be stormed by masses of armed civilians who would likely brutally murder all within, followed or perhaps preceded by most of the worlds nations arresting American soldiers stationed abroad and counter-attacking American Nuclear bases and naval groups with tactical nuclear strikes.

I'd like to direct your attention to a little story called Starcraft. Now, it's fictional, so it can't prove anything, but if there's one thing I've learned from Objectivists, it's that if you repeat your novel enough, people will think it's a valid point of evidence! Sorry, cheap shot.

Where was I? Oh, yes. In that universe, there was an empire called the Confederacy. You can think of them as England if you like, if the English were all mobsters with Southern accents. They were oppressing this nice place called Korhal, which was a bit like America if America was deeply in love with the Latin language.

Y'see, Korhal wanted to be free, like America. So the Confederacy came over, shot the Korhallan leader and his family, and cut his head off. Seriously.

That backfired pretty seriously. Korhal got even angrier and started shooting up the Confederates. Now, they figured that was a game they could win. So they sent in the nukes! Enough to turn the whole planet into a lifeless wasteland, which is easier than you think.

This also backfired. You see, not everyone who was born on Korhal still lived there, and they were pretty goddamn pissed about it. And all the other planets started thinking, "are we next"? So they banded together and started another rebellion. This one succeeded, and because the Confederates had been such enormous assholes in the past, they fed them all to a ravenous alien swarm. The end.

TL;DR: "No dictator, no invader, can hold a population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand."
