Fundamentalism as a movement arose in the United States, starting among conservative Presbyterian theologians at Princeton Theological Seminary in the late 19th century.[7][8] It soon spread to conservatives among the Baptists and other denominations around 1910-1920.[7][8] The movement's purpose was to reaffirm key theological tenets and zealously defend them against the challenges of liberal theology and higher criticism.[7][8]

The term "fundamentalism" has its roots in the Niagara Bible Conference (18781897) which defined those tenets it considered fundamental to Christian belief. The term was popularized by the "The Fundamentals", a collection of twelve books on five subjects published in 1910 and funded by the brothers Milton and Lyman Stewart[7][8] This series of essays came to be representative of the "Fundamentalist-Modernist Controversy" which appeared late in the 19th century within some Protestant denominations in the United States, and continued in earnest through the 1920s. The first formulation of American fundamentalist beliefs can be traced to the Niagara Bible Conference and, in 1910, to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church which distilled these into what became known as the "five fundamentals":[9]

Also, there are few if any fundamentalist Darwinists in the world (which I think is only possible if they reject any later revisions to the ToE or something like that) and the only thing fundamental to atheism is that gods don't exist which cannot lead to any specific action other than expressing disbelief.

So there was never a book called "The Fundamentals"? There are not now, nor ever were groups of people who who practice what the aforementioned book preached? I think they would be quite suprised to find that they do not really exist.

And just what pray tell does a being a "darwinist/atheist fundamentalist" entail? Moreover, If there are no such thing as fundamentalists then how are there "darwinist/atheists fundamentalists"? And finally, You do realize that being an atheist is not the same thing as being a "darwinist", neither one is a requirement for the other.

If that were in fact the case then I highly doubt these "darwinist/atheists fundamentalists" would have allowed you to spew your unsourced drivel, ad hominen attacks, and blatant Lying for Jesus.

Navros, I think you have a vastly overrated sense of your own importence, not to mention a serious case of paranoia. If your claims where even a little bit true then you would pony up evidence instead of making dubious assertions. But they are not, they are simply lies you tell yourself and others to make yourself seem like the persecuted minority that you aren't. Hell, not only are the good people of FSTDT not trying to silence you, they are allowing even more people to see, read, and even mock and ridicule your idiocy.
