"Think about how wonderful it would have been to live in America prior to 1800 - in terms of personal liberty."
Only if you were a white male.

We need sodomy laws to protect individual liberty, since freedom is slavery.

Personal liberty if you're not a Black person or a woman (of any color), anyway.
Also, I've been to SF Pride, thanks. it's actually a lot of fun. People kicking back and enjoying themselves, eating greasy carnival food, and drinking over-priced beer.

You do realize that if sodomy laws are enacted you can't get a blow job because that is sodomy.
Also, Try being black prior to 1800...asshole.

You know, just because people act a certain way at a parade does not mean they act that way all the time.
And what the hell are you talking about "going back to that liberty" in America before 1800? There was no liberty for anyone in the United States during that time except for white men who owned property!
I would like for you to stop parroting your misinformed ideas about "personal liberty." A person who believed in personal liberty would not simultaneously hold the belief that people should be persecuted for their sexual orientation.

Jesus... obesses much? Let's play the "sodomy" game! How many times can you fit the word "Sodomy" into your raving post about how evil it is? That's some industrial strength crazy right there.
I mean you've got to be fucked up if you think getting a blow job will DESTROY IT *america* AND EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR....
Plus if he honestly thinks that blowjobs are a "new thing", then he's even more stupid than I had thought....

Oh yeah, that would be pretty awesome. Unless you're black. Or a woman. Or gay. Or a Catholic. Or a Jew. Or...

"Read about the American Law Institute and the Model Penal Code of 1962."
Read the Jim Crow laws. We should go back to that because that's the way it was in 1962.

So you want greater liberty by disallowing people to do something.
Right.

"That means people under 50 don’t really remember a time when sodomy was not celebrated and forced on people by the sodomite lobby and the government and media they control."
Who is forcing you to engage is sodomy? All 50 states still have laws against rape and forcefully sodomizing you (without consent) is still a crime.

Hey, I'm not interested in having sex in the ass, but if someone else wants to do it, be gay or straight, they should have the right to do that in the privacy of their own homes.
Why are you complaining about getting back the right for "personal responsibility and individual liberty" when you are arguing against EXACTLY THAT. People have the personal liberty to do whatever they want to themselves or with their loved ones. It's self-defining.

Make up your mind, are you for "liberty" or a theocratic police state? You can't have both.

How can you advocate liberty and the removal of other people's rights at the same time?
...
Oh, I see. Personal liberty. As in your personal liberty to be a dick and rob others of their liberty.
I feel like quoting a certain mouse detective here: "Ratigan PieterCasparzen, no one can have a higher opinion of you than I have, and I think you're a slimy, contemptible sewer rat! "

Sodomy being legal =/= people being forced to participate in sodomy.
Sodomy laws need to be brought back.
Yes, let's throw all the sodomites in jail where nobody ever has anal sex.
Read about the American Law Institute and the Model Penal Code of 1962.
*smirk* "Penal."
taking America back from those who seek to DESTROY IT AND EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR. Private Property. The Rule of Law. Personal Responsibility and Individual Liberty.
Yes, they want to destroy individual liberty by repealing laws banning people from having anal sex, while conservatives want to preserve individual liberty by making certain sexual behaviors illegal. Makes perfect sense.
We can get back to that liberty. We must. And we will.
You're not going to have any kind of personal liberty by restricting what sexual practices people are allowed to do.

I love how they invoke 'liberty' as if they know what it means. The way they use it, you'd think it meant the supremacy of protestant white males.

Look up Lawrence vs Texas - Prior to a 2003 Supreme Court case overturning state sodomy laws, I think about half of the states had laws against either sex outside of marriage or specifically homosexual acts. While in theory gays had sex rights from 1962, in practice it didn't start until 2003 (in the US).

If I got to choose (which I wouldn't, because I actually believe in personal freedom), I'd rather see a hypothetical child of mine visit the Folsom Street Fair than a fundamentalist Christian church. I wouldn't want to visit either of them personally, but in my experience the sort of people who would go to the former tend to be nice, friendly, respectful people, with no interest in forcing me or anyone else into having the exact same kind of sex that they like and banning everything else. The kind of people who would go to the latter usually aren't.

How "wonderful" it would have been to have lived in America before 1800? Back when if you were black, you were likely a slave even if you didn't live in the South, if you were female you practically had no rights, and even if you were a white male, if you were the average Joe you wouldn't have been able to vote or have a say in things because you were poor. This is not to mention all of the preventable diseases that you would be in danger of. The Founders were pretty progressive for their time, (and when it comes to religion, some of the Founders were even more progressive than some modern Americans, disappointingly) but their views were not representative of the public at large, and even then they still looked down on the "commoners". (Though to be fair, this is because the only educated people back then were rich property-owning white males. That doesn't excuse the Founders' racism, though.)
