Yasir Habib got cancer!
Mubahala* took place between the Shia scholar Yassir habib and Sunni scholar Shaykh Muhammed Al Khuas...and Allah exposed Yasir as the liar!
Allah says:
Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us].- 3;61"

People I disagree with are dying, therefore God says I win.
Yeah. Lovely logic there, and frequently used by both sides in the same argument with the sort of weight added to it that implies that death, the great eventuality, was somehow rare enough to be divine interference regardless of the cause or timing.
Sudden heart attack with no medical history? God.
Hit by a bus? God.
Killed by terrorists? God.
Five minutes into the rebuttle? God.
Twenty years down the line? God.
Therefore, I win... at least until I fall down the stairs and somebody uses that to win the argument we had the month before about Star Trek VS Star Wars.
"Ibn Uthaymin", should you get cancer (or heart attack, or stroke, or any other perilous illness), may I then quote Sura 3,61 to you, and accuse you of being a liar? Wouldn't this then prove that you are cursed by your Allah, who exposed you as a liar? I'm just using your very own argument ... and please remember: The Internet doesn't forget a thing.
So, if someone gets a deadly disease it means they're wrong?
And why would I want to worship a god that gives people deadly diseases?
I needn't point to all the Sunni Muslims with cancer, must I?
You know, this reminds me of that one time on Rapture Ready when people celebrated that Harold Camping had a stroke. There truly is no difference between fundie Christians and fundie Muslims, is there?

No, shameless bastards to a man the lot of them. And they nearly all are men too, not particularly pround about that myself...

Says it all, really.
You know, I've always wondered... if God / Allah / Whatever is so up in arms about "false prophets", "unbelievers" and other "undesirables", why doesn't He / She / It simply vaporize them and get it over with? The holy texts are filled with examples of just such behaviour. Back then, God / Allah was powerful enough to create the entire universe, and yet these days is barely powerful enough to give one of his smaller creations a stroke or cancer. What gives? Did He just run out of God Juice one day?
Second question: If Allah doesn't want these people to exist, why do they exist in the first place? Clearly, omnipotence ain't what it used to be.
Hmmm...if you go back a couple of thousand years hasn't everyone who ever issued a fatwa died eventually?
Some much earlier than others and many before their time, thus God/Allah must have thought them liars too?
Who knows, you might even be next Ibn Uthaymin, are you sure you are right with Allah, are you sure you have never lied? :p
If Ibn Uthaymin hates Shias so much, then his rage levels must be OVER 9000 at my physician, who is a Sufi Muslim.
He's 60.
Yet, with a combination of a healthy - but still Halal - diet, and (as he's a Sufi; Islam's equivalent of Buddhists) by definition a calm, nay, positive demeanour, he's never had any afflictions of that nature, certainly stress-related (he & his family went on the Hajj a few years ago. He's had a permanent smile on his face since then!).
He was even the anaesthetist at the operation I had a decade ago to remove a tumour from my rectal wall (which was benign, fortunately).
He knows I'm an Atheist.
Insha'Allah.
Confused?
