Quote# 82261

For millennia marriage has been recognized solely as the union of a man and a woman. No society has ever sanctioned “gay marriage” because to do so would be to undermine the keystone of society, the family.

For the first time in the nation’s history, we have a President who has lent his office to the advancement of the homosexual agenda, though it should be noted that former President Clinton attempted to do that when he tried to alter the military to the open acceptance of homosexuals in its ranks in 1993. After an outcry, this was modified into a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy that Congress has since repealed.

Among the “czars” that President Obama appointed was Kevin Jennings, given the title of “Safe Schools Czar” overseeing elements of policy in the Department of Education. Jennings was and is a homosexual activist who will leave his office in July and return to Massachusetts. He has specialized in targeting children with the “gay rights” message through indoctrination in the nation’s schools that is intended to advance acceptance of homosexuality and its permutations as an acceptable lifestyle choice.

I can speak only for myself, but I find all this activity to legalize “gay marriage” and to introduce a gay agenda into the curriculums in the nation’s schools a distinct threat to the fabric of a society based on the undisputed normality of heterosexuality. I am pretty sure the “straight” citizens of Boston and elsewhere find it offensive to host a gay parade.

I believe the greater society has a right to protect itself, its children and its military forces against these legislative intrusions, mandates and coercions to force acceptance upon it. If it continues, it will become one more factor in the destruction of America, a signal that its moral foundations continue to be eroded.

Candidates for elected office and those holding such offices should be challenged and removed when they advocate and vote for the queering of America.

"I believe the greater society has a right to protect itself, its children and its military forces against these legislative intrusions, mandates and coercions to force acceptance upon it."

Sounds like a sentence right out of a Hitler speech. (Sorry for the Godwin)

Stopped reading here. This is a complete and transparent lie.

Read a history book.

Although I do not live in Boston, I am straight, and I honestly don't mind if gay people chose to have a "gay parade" here. If I don't want to see it, I'll go to the movies. It's really pretty awesome. You should try it sometime.

Marriage types approved of in teh Babble:

1.Polygynous Marriage

Probably the most common form of marriage in the bible, it is where a man has more than one wife.

2.Levirate Marriage

When a woman was widowed without a son, it became the responsibility of the brother-in-law or a close male relative to take her in and impregnate her. If the resulting child was a son, he would be considered the heir of her late husband. See Ruth, and the story of Onan (Gen. 38:6-10).

3. A man, a woman and her property — a female slave

The famous “handmaiden” sketch, as preformed by Abraham (Gen. 16:1-6) and Jacob (Gen. 30:4-5).

4. A man, one or more wives and some concubines

The definition of a concubine varies from culture to culture, but they tended to be live-in mistresses. Concubines were tied to their “husband,” but had a lower status than a wife. Their children were not usually heirs, so they were safe outlets for sex without risking the line of succession. To see how badly a concubine could be treated, see the famous story of the Levite and his concubine (Judges 19:1-30).

5. A male soldier and a female prisoner of war

Women could be taken as booty from a successful campaign and forced to become wives or concubines. Deuteronomy 21:11-14 describes the process.

6. A male rapist and his victim

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 describes how an unmarried woman who had been raped must marry her attacker.

7.A male and female slave

A female slave could be married to a male slave without consent, presumably to produce more slaves.

8. Monogamous, heterosexual arranged marriage

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match...
Remember, inter-faith or cross-ethnic marriage were forbidden for most of biblical history.

I sense a logical fallacy here. "No society has ever sanctioned “gay marriage” because to do so would be to undermine the keystone of society, the family." Seems to me that no society has ever had telephones before recently (relatively speaking). Are all modern advancements, including civil rights and technology contributing to our downfall?

It would be truer to state that for millenia, marriage was recognized as a political tool to unite warring factions and accumulate great wealth.
It had fuck-all to do with God or church-sanctioned anything.

I'm pretty sure most straight citizens don't give a crap. You should try minding your own business instead of worrying about what others do. If the Tea Party wants less government, they should start by getting the government out of peoples' morals.

Many native Americans allowed transgenders to marry, which would qualify as same sex marriage.

Typical isolationist sheltered retards.

Marriage is no longer a religious institution, it was for a short time, before that it was a tool to get wealth, power, babies it wasn't about love. So traditional marriage is something we made up, same with the nuclear family it is not the norm there goes that argument.

When I get married it will be by a Celebrant and in a completely none religious ceremony, no God at all. This should be just as offensive as homosexuals getting married to you. My secular marriage should be more of a threat to you, we are two people you think of as normal who are avoiding you like the plague. If the Government can marry me then it can marry homosexuals too. There goes your get the government out of my marriage bullshit.

Oh and homosexuality is not catching, so talking about it wont make your kids magically gay...unless they already have odd feelings and want to know if they are okay and they are. Instead of being a mental cripple they will be a well adjusted member of our society. There goes your argument about it ruining society.

In other words, GTFO DIAF.

Okay I'm going to say what needs to be said, and isn't said enough by our side. Marriage has been defined for hundreds of years as being a heterosexual union, in our culture. There have been hundreds of other cultures across even wider gulfs of times that have recognized that human sexuality is a spectrum, not binary. They have allowed marriage between people of the same sex. If you really think about it, which you don't, our society is the one that's weird and out of the ordinary.

For millennia marriage has been recognized solely as the union of a man and a woman.

Examples in the bible of a 1 man 1 woman marriage:
King David and Michal, Ahinoam, Abigail, Maachah, Haggith, Abital, Eglah, Bathsheba and Abishag (all at once)

Because 8 wives equals 1 wife, right?

King Solomon and Naamah (and another sevenhundred wives and threehundred concubines, but who cares about the little details, right?)

No society has ever sanctioned “gay marriage” because to do so would be to undermine the keystone of society, the family.

The Netherlands seems to be doing quite alright with the gay couples getting married, and adopting children, or having children with the aid of a donor father/mother. The wrath of God (tm) doesn't seem to faze the Dutch much.
