That's the difference between fundies and normal human beings. We see the results of a drought, they see signs that their sky pixie is pissed off.

I've got a friend who lived in Sudan a few years ago during a drought. When it rained, nine of the ten plagues of exodus happened aa a simple natural consequence of the long-awaited rain.
When an eclipse happens, it has nothing to do with god darkening the sky, ya know.

Or maybe some company has not been listening to Captain Planet's advice in dumped rust-coloured chemicals in the lake.

Lakes and other natural pools turning red isn't that uncommon. Various chemicals, bacteria, etc. can change the colour of the water.

Raised by Horses"A favorite fishing spot in West Texas has turned blood-red, cuing rapture-ready believers to claim that it’s evidence of the end times."
A piece of burnt toast is enough to set off rapture-ready believers, so that isn't saying much.
"Ever seen a lake turn BLOOD RED?"
Well...

"As if Texas’ drought wasn’t bad enough, it might be a sign of something worse, some Christians worry. A favorite fishing spot in West Texas has turned blood-red, cuing rapture-ready believers to claim that it’s evidence of the end times. "
Let me guess, global warming is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people, but Jesus is going to beam you up any minute now.

Because, you know, droughts don’t tend to leave higher concentrations of other substances that may act like coloring agents or anything like that, do they?
So any word on what is actually turning the water red, anyway?

Perhaps it is best that they remain ignorant.
If these loonies find out that the real reason is a drought, I wouldn't put it past them to start deliberately polluting the environment just so they can get more of these 'signs'.

Strange. My tea is quite normal.

Firstly, I wish I was surprised. Few people actually bother to learn from history, because if they did they'd know people have been making predictions about the end of everything almost since the beginning of human civilisation, all based on the same nebulous "signs" that could literally mean anything, all vastly incorrect.
Secondly, anyone who claims to know what is going on in Revelations is either dangerously stupid, a rampant liar, or just as insane as the person/s who wrote it.

Doubting Thomas
For all thinking individuals: I read an article stating that the red color was caused by a certain strain of bacteria in the lake. From http://news.yahoo.com/end-times-texas-lake-turns-blood-red-215004338.html:
"Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries officials say the bloody look is the result of Chromatiaceae bacteria, which thrive in oxygen-deprived water."
Now for all religious end-times nuts: If you want to keep living in the 12th century, that's fine with me, but don't keep trying to convince other people of your delusional superstition. Meanwhile, we'll use science to keep marching forward while you crazy religious nutjobs keep sitting around waiting for Jesus to come back.

Parts of Oklahoma and Texas have red soil, so naturally when a lake dries up, it's going to look red.

"...How many more bible signs are we going to get?"
I know the answer. It'll be billions and billions more signs over the next several billion years. I reckon the biggest sign is going to be when a swollen sun engulfs the Earth and makes it uninhabitable.

“The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became as the blood of a dead man, and every living soul died in the sea. The third angel poured out his bowl upon the rivers and the fountains of water, and they became blood.”
Last time I was on Corporation Pier, here in Hull, was last week, armed with my binoculars, watching the yachts, pleasure cruisers etc going to & from the Marina.
Whilst the River Humber is permanently a muddy brown colour (PROTIP: with the powerful cross-currents, undertows etc, the Humber is the 2nd most dangerous river in the world, next to the Amazon), did I see said Humber - connected to the North Sea, itself connected to the Atlantic Ocean etc, etc - turn
red? As we say in Yorkshire:
Did I 'eck as like!
Ergo, Pauliepoos...:
We have a saying here in Yorkshire:
There's nowt as queer as folk!

Seconded. Are Texans the latter-day Mayans? Bible = Popol Vuh? Their wont to self-annihilation (via fundies committing socio-political
seppuku, P.R.-wise)? Their propensity for human sacrifices (executions), ergo said blood-red river?
Texas is dangerously close to what used to be Mesoamerica, after all. >:D

Water turns to blood. Blah blah blah. Boring! That's just like a rehash of one of the plagues of Egypt from Exodus. I want something new.
Tell me when the scorpions the size of horses with human faces and lion teeth show up. It talks about those in Revelation 9:7-11. Until then, I'm not interested.
